Français: J'ai rencontré Laura, quand j'habitais New York; c'est une Française, qui vit à New York depuis de nombreuses années. Elle a épousé un New-Yorkais, et ils habitent à Union Square, un quartier de Manhattan à New York.
Laura est psychothérapeute dans une école de Midwood Brooklyn; elle peint aussi beaucoup, et j'ai voulu en savoir plus sur ses sources d'inspiration new-yorkaises. Le site de ses peintures est ICI

Toutes les questions commencent par: à New York, es-tu inspirée par...
1. Une saison?
Généralement, au printemps mon inspiration est florissante. Nous faisons bel et bien partie de la nature.
2. Un quartier?
Je dirais qu'ils m'inspirent tous de façon différente... Tous ont une personnalité, une singularité, un "visage". Puis-je parler du Métro de New York car c'est une de mes principales sources d'inspiration? Mes peintures sont pour la plupart des portraits. La variété des visages que le métro m'offre quotidiennement est très riche.
3. Un parc?
Prospect Park à Brooklyn. Une version plus intime et moins touristique de Central Park. Ce parc offre de nombreux "petits coins" de tranquillité pour se poser, se reposer, dessiner, peindre, méditer, penser...
4. Un pont?
Le Pont de Brooklyn. Je le prends tous les jours pour me rendre au travail. Des idées de tableaux ont fait surface alors que je le traversais. La vue y est imprenable... On se sent si petit, les perspectives sont incroyables.
5. Un monument?
The Cloisters. Quel fabuleux projet!
6. Un immeuble?
Euh! Empire State car il change de couleurs tous les jours.
7. Un magasin?
Les vitrines du magasin Anthropologie attirent toujours mon oeil. Les décorations sont très artistiques. Les parfums enivrants des bougies, les textures uniques des vêtements, les petits objets décoratifs cosy pour la maison. Tout me plaît!
8. Un café?
Aroma où j'ai rencontré mon mari.
9. Un restaurant?
Applewood, j'en ai de très chers et bons souvenirs. Et la nourriture est presque aussi bonne qu'en France!
10. Un endroit festif?
Brooklyn Bowl à Williamsburg, à Brooklyn. On peut y rencontrer des artistes, musiciens émergents ou établis... et leur "fried chicken" (poulet frit) est succulent!
Laura, merci pour ce joli moment en ta compagnie; toutes les sources d'inspiration de tes peintures sont magiques, et cette discussion me rappelle nos jolis moments à New York. English: I met Laura when I was living in New York; she is a French girl living in New York since a long time. She is married to a New Yorker, and they live in Union Square, in Manhattan, New York.

All the questions begin with: in New York, are you inspired by ...
1. A season?
Generally, during Spring time, my inspiration is flourishing. For sure, we are a part of nature.
2. An area?
I would say they inspire me all with a different way... All of them have a personality, a singularity, a "face". Can I talk about New York Subway because it is one of my main inspiration? My paintings are for most of them portraits. The variety of faces that the subway offers me daily is very rich.
3. A park?
Prospect Park in Brooklyn. A more personal and less touristic version of Central Park. This park offers a lot of "small corners" of tranquillity to relax, to rest, to draw, to paint, to meditate, to think.
4. A bridge?
Brooklyn Bridge. I use it everyday to go to work. Paintings ideas began to surface when I was crossing it. View is breathtaking... You feel so small, perspectives are unbelievable.
5. A monument?
The Cloisters. What a project!
6. A building?
Um! Empire State because its colors change everyday.
7. A shop?
Anthropologie store windows get my attention. The decoration is always artistic. Candles scents are heady, unique clothes textures, small and cosy decorative items for home. I like everything!
8. A coffee place?
Aroma where I met my husband.
9. A restaurant?
Applewood, where I have deep and nice memories. And food is almost as good as in France!
10. A festive place?
Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg, in Brooklyn. You can meet artists, new or well-known musicians... and their fried chicken is tasty!
Laura, "merci" for this great time in your company; all the inspirations of your paintings are magic, and this talk reminds me of our nice moments in New York.
