I am selling a "Hataya" Kotetsu katana that I bought a number of years ago and never really used as my primary cutting/competition blade is my Howard Clark L6 katana. This wonderful cutter is taking up valuable space in my overcrowded weapons safes. This sword has been used to cut with by myself on two occasions and David Neeley used it to cut two targets at a Senpokan Dojo cutting session last night. It is in LIKE NEW condition with the slightest indication of use at the mono-uchi. The sword is straight and true, having only been used by ranked Toyama Ryu / Mugai Ryu practitioners and never has been subjected to a bad cut in its VERY limited use; The blade it is straight and true as it came from the factory.

This is a VERY BEEFY, stiff blade as Kotetsu's go, being a later production blade. The sword has my signature deep/navy blue silk wrap with a large moko tsuba with bird/sun and waterfront motif. Handachi fittings with a wave motif finish out the mountings. The saya is deep gloss black and flawless. It comes with a plain navy blue silk sageo.

NOTE: The handachi kashira is ever so slightly loose.. probably the result of all these years in my VERY DRY humidity controlled gun safes. The wrap is tight and flawless.

This excellent Tameshigiri blade deserves to be in the hands of a practioner who will put it to good use!
