Sutton United exited the FA Trophy at Hemel Hempstead Town as a late penalty saw them lose 1-0 on Saturday.

United played the entire second half of the first round proper tie with 10 men but looked like holding on for a replay until Jordan Parkes’ 84th-minute spot kick sent Hemel through.

It was a similar outcome to the Conference South meeting between the two a month ago, when Parkes’ injury-time penalty gave Hemel at 2-1 win at Gander Green Lane.

Sutton had looked the better of the two teams until Bedsente Gomis was sent off just before the break for his reaction to the flare-up that followed his late tackle on Wes Daly.

The home side looked like holding out though until Harry Osborne was judged to have pushed Moussa Diarra in the box and Parkes converted the spot kick to knock United out.

Tooting & Mitcham conceded three goals in the final 11 minutes to fall to a 3-1 defeat at Folkestone Invicta in the Ryman South on Saturday.

The home side started well and Danny Summers gave them the lead on the stroke of half-time with his 16th league goal of the season.

But late strikes from Richard Atkins, Frankie Chappell and Paul Booth snatched all three points for Folkestone.

In the Ryman Premier, Met Police earned their first victory of the month as they did the double over Tonbridge Angels with a comfortable 2-0 away win.

Bradley Hudson-Odoi opened the scoring for the Blues, as he did when the sides played back in August, before Ryan James completed the scoring in the 46th minute.

Hampton & Richmond’s run without a win in December continues after two goals from Jamie Guy helped Witham Town triumph 3-2.

Tom Collins had given Town the lead, but Guy’s double and a goal from Kurt Smith sealed the win before Charlie Moone’s strike made it a tense finish.

Tommy Bradford’s 38th minute strike was enough to give Carshalton Athletic all three points as they saw off Walton & Hersham 1-0 in Ryman South and climbed to 15th.

Walton Casuals’ match against Herne Bay was abandoned in the 82nd minute after a power outage struck the Waterside, plunging it into darkness.

The visitors were 2-1 ahead when the floodlights failed, with Luke Medley netting for the home side.

Elsewhere, Kingstonian played out a goalless draw away to AFC Hornchurch to remain 15th in the Ryman Premier.

In the Combined Counties Premier League, Raynes Park Vale were thrashed 5-0 at home to Windsor while Colliers Wood United lost 3-1 away to Knaphill.
