Nigel Cabourn decides to take everyone to a quick history lesson with their Spring Summer 2017 collection which pays tribute to the Desert Rats of the WWII.  The Desert Rats was one of the most popular and highly recognized units of the British Army.  Now the British designer focuses on this theme for the design of the menswear pieces of the collection.

Being an avid collector himself of the vintage military items, the fabric motivated designer integrates historical garments like the Ventile and the Lancashire deadstock cotton drill on his popular Cameraman jacket and on the two piece suit for Authentic line of the collection.

As for the Lybro line, he used heavy washed Japanese cotton poplin fabrics fused with the military inspired colors like khakis and tans with the practical overcoat or the cargo pants as well.  There is also the Army Gym collection influenced by the designer’s exercise regimen and the relaxed sweats that the Desert Rats team used to wear for basic training.  This time of course, it utilizes a 100 percent cotton looped grey marl fabric material for the sweats and tees.  These will be available via The Army Gym and other chosen retailers by Spring 2017.

Nigel Cabourn is a world class British fashion designer known for his amazing works on outerwear and other vintage inspired clothing pieces. Most of his collections are inspired by military themes with the signature use of fabrics like Harris Tweed & Ventile.
