Aglow International Sweetwater Community Lighthouse
Aglow International Sweetwater Community Lighthouse will have a community fundraiser with a brisket and bake sale on Saturday, July 13, at the O'Reilley parking lot in Sweetwater. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and end when they are sold out. There will be brisket sandwiches, chips, drinks and baked goods.

There is no doubt we are living in the best and worst of times, a time of profound paradoxes. We live in a time of great joy, and yet, there seems to be impending doom on all the news channels. We live in a world where man has stepped on the moon, where food lasts for months in a freezer and can be ready to eat in just seconds compliments of the microwave and yet people are hoarding food for the apocalypse they believe is coming. We can travel to the other side of the world in just minutes, and yet people are afraid to get on a plane. We have email, internet banking, debit cards and yet we still get frustrated when we have to wait for anything. If you don’t like reality, we now have “virtual reality” through computer generated lives. We have all the gadgets yet we are not happy. We have more than any other generation, and yet, we are unfilled, unsatisfied and unhappy. Why are our lives so unfilled? Why do we have more and enjoy less? I believe it is because of misplaced priorities. The things that should matter: God, family, church and friends have been replaced with lust, greed and selfishness. We’ve removed God from our homes, schools and government. We’ve removed right and wrong and replaced them with a hazy gray of no absolutes. What should we do? I believe the answer is simple. Return to God, return to the faith of our fathers and return the principles of the Word of God. Is your life all messed up? God can fix it and we at Broadway want to extend to you and invitation to let God pick up your broken pieces and turn your life around.
This week we will be privileged to have with us Evangelist Joe Schmidt. Bro. Joe will be singing, performing illusions and preaching in both services. Evangelist Joe Schmidt will also be our Junior Camp speaker this week in Junior Camp. Come on out and enjoy the blessings of God with us.

Junior Camp (for children finishing first grade through finishing fifth grade) will be held at Circle 6 Ranch in Stanton from July 15-18. Cost of this camp is $120 per camper. Sign up today for summer camp. There is a camp for every age group. Missions Camp will be July 30-Aug. 2 for grades 3-5. Lad and Lassie Camp will be Aug. 2 and 3 for grades 1 and 2. Day Camp for Pre-K and Kindergarten will be Aug. 3. These camps are at Lueders with the Big Country Baptist Assembly. P3 at Coral Cove will be Aug. 5-8. All the summer camps are tied together under one church theme: “Refuge: Who Is Your Strength?” with a theme verse of Psalm 46:1.
For our summer Bible study series, we will be going through The Purpose Driven Life. This study will continue July 14 at 6 p.m. and continue through Aug. 18. The Purpose Driven Life will help you understand why you are alive and reveal God’s amazing plan for you-both here and now, and for eternity.
Our ministry focus this month will be the prison ministry and the hospital ministry. The prison ministry has supplied our local prisons with experiencing God and downpour literature to teach and share with the local prisoners. Our worship choir has had the privilege to sing and share their testimonies with the prisoners as well. The hospital ministry is for newborn infants born in Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. Each newborn infant will receive a gift bag with a fleece baby blanket and bottle along with a letter of congratulations to the new parents from First Baptist Church.

Highland Heights focuses upon specific outreach ministries throughout the year. With school beginning in early August, the next community outreach is our school ministry. We will once again collect school supplies for needy students in the second and third grades at the East Ridge Elementary campus. A list of suggested items to purchase is available at the back of the sanctuary. Please bring your selections to the church on or before Sunday, Aug. 4, and they will be delivered the following Monday to the school campus.
Bless This House is calling upon prayer for the families of the firefighters who loss their lives fighting the fires in Arizona. Pray the Lord surrounds the family members with love and comforts them in their sorrow. Give thanks to God for these dedicated and courageous men who gave their lives in protecting the residents and their property. May we always give firemen the utmost respect for the risks and sacrifices made in protecting us and our homes.

LAMAR STREET BAPTIST CHURCH
We ended Vacation Bible School (VBS) last night with program and a watermelon fellowship. It was a huge success. Thanks to the many workers that made it possible and the parents that brought the children.
We invite you to join us Sunday at 9:30 a.m. for Sunday school, followed by our 10:40 a.m. service including children sermon, hymnals and praise songs and Bro. Billy Oliver will bring a message from the Bible. Our evening service starts at 6 p.m.
On Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., we offer activities for children in first through sixth grade; activities for preschool age; youth activities for 7th-12th graders; and Bible study and prayer for adults led by Bro. Billy Oliver.
There will be a church-wide swimming party on Thursday, July 25 at the Sweetwater City Pool from 8:30-10:30 p.m., come and join the fun.
Camp for children first through sixth grade is Tuesday, July 30 through Friday, Aug. 2. The kids are collecting the following items to take to camp for mission project: coloring books, sticker books, crayons, word search books and fuzzy socks (age 3-12). There is a box in the foyer to put items. Day Camp for Kindergarten through third grade is Saturday, Aug. 3; please get forms and $10 deposit to Linda Kite.

We have a Bible study for couples on Friday evening in the fellowship hall at 7 p.m. All couples are welcome.
We are excited to be celebrating our 100th year. We are gathering addresses of past and present members and staff, so please turn these address in the church office. The celebration is set for Sunday, Oct. 13. Our next committee meeting will be Sunday, July 21, at 5 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Our youth will leave on Monday, July 15, for a week-long youth camp at Alto Frio Baptist Encampment, Leakey, Texas. Upcoming camps include Preteen Camp at Big Country Baptist Assembly from July 22-25. This is followed by Lad and Lassie Camp (also at BCBA) from Aug. 2 and 3. Ending the camping season will be the day campers on Aug. 3 (also at BCBA). Please pray for these students and children as well as their sponsors.
The adults at Trinity are currently studying “Vital Signs” on Sunday evenings at 6 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Come learn how we can reclaim our spiritual health by examining how our faith affects us physically, emotionally and relationally. While adults are studying, there are children’s activities as well as youth Bible study, so there is a place for everyone.
The Trinity Family would appreciate your prayers as we seek God’s will for the next pastor of our church. We know He already has someone chosen for the position and is preparing him as we are preparing to select him. Our church will choose a search committee in the coming weeks/months. That search committee will be responsible for seeking applicants, resumes, etc. and will ultimately bring the final candidate to the church for confirmation. This process is neither a short nor an easy one. We ask your prayers as we rely on God to help us choose the right committee members and as we seek the person God has in mind for Trinity.
Rest assured, however, that during this process, all activities at Trinity will continue to thrive with faith in our Lord and Savior.
