The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) is overseeing both the paper judging and site visits. Lynn Webster Consultants will be judging the Healthy Workplace Award and The Building Futures Group will be judging The Best Company to work for.
Stan Atkins, Chief Executive Officer, British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) said: “Congratulations to all finalists. The standard of entries was exceptionally high with evidence of clear innovations and achievements across the industry. We are very much looking forward to the next stage of the judging and announcing our eventual winners at the event.”
The Judging Process
The second stage of the judging process involves site visits for the majority of the awards and these will take place during the summer of 2015. BICSc has appointed three experienced judges who will visit each of the nominated premises. Only one judge is responsible for each category so that all entries are equally assessed. The judges work to the BICSc Best Value document before they carry out their site visits. In addition, there will be a head judge and someone in charge of compliance. Traditionally BICSc has judged its own award – the BICSc Industry Training Award, however this year a separate judge – Mike Fletcher MD of BBS – has been appointed in the interests of fairness.
It is important to point out that the judges will be judging standards achieved and not just whether the specifications for the entry are followed. Innovation, staff training and client relationships are among the main criteria which will be assessed and the judges continue to stress that it is not the size of your business that’s important, but the quality of the service provided.
Prestigious new venue
A brand new prestigious venue, the London Hilton on Park Lane will set the scene for this year’s event on Friday 23rd October. Over 600 guests including finalists and sponsors are expected to join together to celebrate the latest achievements of the UK’s cleaning and FM industry.
