Essential Survival Fuel: No-Cook Overnight Oats

A great survivalist knows that a well-stocked food supply is absolutely essential to outdoor survival. Make sure you’re prepared by keeping a jar of these overnight oats in your bug out bag.

These no-cook overnight oats take minimal effort – just layer the ingredients, throw it in the fridge overnight, then grab it on your way out the door. Each recipe is an entire meal in one mason jar, so it requires very little time and no cooking whatsoever. Check out the three recipes below, and be sure to leave your own survival food tips in the comments.

How to Prepare Overnight Oats:

Step 1: Layer each ingredient in a mason jar or other airtight container.
Step 2: Seal and refrigerate overnight (or for at least 4 hours).
Step 3: Enjoy in the morning warm or chilled.

Peach Pie Overnight Oats:


Ingredients:

1 cup oats

1 tbsp. chia seeds

2 tbsp. greek yogurt

1 tsp. cinnamon

4 tsp. honey

peach, sliced

2/3 cup almond milk

Peanut Butter & Banana Overnight Oats:


Ingredients:

1 cup oats

1 tbsp. chia seeds

2 tbsp. peanut butter

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. vanilla extract

banana, sliced

1 cup almond milk

Apple Pie Overnight Oats:

Ingredients:

1 cup oats

1 tbsp. chia seeds

2 tsp. maple syrup

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

apple, sliced

1 cup soy milk
