Italian tourism specialist By Tourist has announced that a selected group of charter operators will take part of the fourth edition of By Tourist on the Sea from 6-8 May.

This year’s event focuses on the Campania region and organisers have prepared an activity-packed weekend to allow guests to experience products and services available to superyachts cruising the area.

In addition to experiencing the cultural and culinary attractions that this region offers, the programme will provide B2B networking opportunities with companies operating in the sector including: Luise Group, Palumbo Shipyard, Bulgari, Italian Yacht Masters, Le Agavi di Positano, Quattro Passi in Nerano, Palazzo Petrucci in Naples, the President of Pompeii, La Caravella of Amalfi, Da Paolino in Capri, Marina Molo Luise, Pastificio Leonessa and Plaghia Charter.

Superyacht destination
“Over 1,000 superyachts over 100ft visit the region,” says Francesco Luise, manager of Luise Associates, a company that provides marine agency services to the superyacht industry in Italy with over 35 offices along the coastline. “There is so much to see in the area that they [superyachts] usually make four or five port calls on average during their stay in the area. The most important and popular locations are Naples, Ischia, Capri, Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento. This area is in continuous growth and is a favourite for yachts,” Luise told SB.

The tourism options in the Campania region are vast and diverse. Luise explains: “The island of Capri is a hugely popular destination as are the ruins in Pompei and Ercolano. Ischia and its thermal baths is also hugely popular and the Amalfi coast is very attractive to those who like hiking and nature walks. Naples is a mecca of museums, castles, theatres and has incredible architecture and artwork. There’s really something for everyone.”

Superyachts visiting the area find various mooring options. “From the boutique marina at Mergellina in the heart of the city of Naples to structures in the area that are larger along the coast like Stabia Main Port that can accommodate yachts up to 300m and Marina D’Arechi that serves the southern part of region near Salerno. There are lots of options for superyachts to berth,” Francesco Luise explains.

This event, not open to the public, will welcome fourteen international charter brokers who will be able to experience first hand, the opportunities that can be organized for owners and guests. In addition, six journalists from the USA, UK and Europe will be present.

“It is an exceptional opportunity for us to network with international yacht charter brokers and other leading companies in the sector to identify synergies to ultimately join forces to promote the territory together,” Luise concludes.

The B2B event is organised by By Tourist Ltd. The company operates from Amalfi and works on maritime and culinary tourism.
