Operators of the marina in Costa Rica tell SB that further expansion plans include the construction in 2018 of the Crew Campus with complimentary Wifi, concierge services, restaurant, fitness centre, swimming pool and lounge facility.

Construction works at Costa Rica’s Golfito Marina Village & Resort are complete and the facility is now open for business, David Johnson, the marina sales director, told Superyacht Business.

The marina is now open with the following berth capacity:

14 slips for yachts up to 40ft

12 slips for yachts up to 60ft

6 slips for yachts up to 70ft

1 slips for yachts up to 150ft

3 slips for yachts up to 90ft

2 slips for yachts up to 350ft (or 4 slips for yachts up to 150ft) on the Main Pier.

Superyacht destination

The marina is located in the historic Pacific town of Golfito, on the southern Pacific coast on Golfito Bay — about 550km north of the Panama Canal’s western entrance.

It comprises private islands with villas, exclusive villa residences, an open-air spa, a flagged boutique hotel and a deep-water Blue Flag Marina with 132 private slips.

“All of the berths have side-to docking with a controlled depth of 35ft and shore power for even the largest yachts,” Johnson explains.

Johnson continues: “Construction on the shore-side facilities is ongoing with the shops at Marina Village 50% complete and construction starting on the Hotel and private beachfront Villa’s in the 2nd quarter of 2017.”

Upon completion of the Marina Village in a few months the marina guests and yacht crew will have a variety of dining and shopping options and a marina gymnasium.

“At this time we are offering a very limited amount of berths for sale and are selling all of the beachfront luxury villas,” Johnson concludes.

Further expansion plans during 2018 include a Crew Campus with complimentary Wifi, concierge services, restaurant, fitness centre, swimming pool, and lounge facility.
