I’m a big sucker for games that recreate the epic space battles of sci-fi operas like Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica so when I first sat down with the new outer space themed real time strategy game Earth Force Defenders I knew i’d be hooked. This addicting intergalactic combat simulator from independent developer Two Thumbs Games puts players in charge of the entirety of Earth’s forces as they build up their armada in advance of an alien invasion with a variety of different unit types that can be upgraded over 30 intense missions. Unlike your typical Command & Conquer inspired RTS here there are no traditional resource collecting mechanics slowing down the action as all players need focus on is kicking extraterrestrial butt through battle hardened strategery.
