ADAM from Mudloop
ADAM, aka. Artificial Defense Automation Module, is both an addicting new game and a cute little robot that has found himself in quite the unfortunate predicament. It seems he’s found himself in an endless world filled to the brim with hazards – but luckily he also has a strong defense: a super handy extendable neck. Extend or contract ADAM’s neck to avoid oncoming obstacles that lay higher up, or attach to conveyor belts to avoid coming into contact with the lower obstacles. It’s tricky but once you get the hang of it you’ll have a hard time putting ADAM down. Its unique gameplay, charming art design, and catchy chiptune soundtrack make ADAM truly stand out as something special.

Battlestation – First Contact from Bugbyte
From the indie developer that brought you the charitable canine sidescroller Ace Tales comes a fantastic new real time strategy game called Battlestation that plays like every Star Wars fans’ wet dream. Battlestation – First Contact puts players in the commanders seat as they lead their battlestation into combat against vicious alien armadas and space bandits roaming the galaxy. Players can completely customize every aspect of their ship and its weapons for a unique playthrough each time in this tower defense esque strategy game. Will you place your faith in superior fire power by having your crew dedicate itself to building missile launchers, or will you risk it all on a last ditch assault with smaller fighter craft? The choice is yours.

Dodge Those Balls! from Audacia Games
Sometimes the simplest approach is the best, a design philosophy indie studio Audacia Games has taken to heart with their manic new retro style arcade game Dodge Those Balls!. All players need do is run around the screen collecting power ups while avoiding getting crushed by a deluge of bouncing concrete orbs, a task easier said than done. If you’re in the mood for a fun new oldschool action game that harkens back to the days of Atari, be sure to check out Dodge Those Balls!.

Doggins from Brain&Brain
Doooooooogggggsssss iiiiiinnnnn spppppaaaaaaaaaaaaccceeee!!! That’s the basic idea behind Brain&Brain’s adorably quirky new adventure game Doggins. In this award nominated trek to the moon players take control of an intrepid young pup as he solves mysteries and goes about saving the whole of human existence. Good boy.

It’s time to take to the seas in indie developer Cheese Burgames’ exhilarating new exploration game Echoes: Deep Sea Exploration! A fantastic steam punk twist on Ecco The Dolphin but from a different perspective, Echoes: Deep Sea Exploration puts players in the drivers seat of a kitsch submersible as they plunder the ocean’s depths for treasure. With its moody atmosphere, steam punk aesthetic, and intriguing gameplay Echoes: Deep Sea Exploration will bring out your inner Jules Verne!

Enterchained from Featherweight Games
Prepare yourself for glory! A unique new arcade brawler by the name of Enterchained approaches and its intriguing two man combat system is sure to test the wits of even the most seasoned warriors. The valiant debut title from indie developer Featherweight Games, Enterchained takes the idea of swords & sandals based combat and puts a new spin on classic arcade beat ‘em up design by tethering players to an AI ally by a long metal chain like a scene right out of Gladiator. This intriguing gameplay mechanic forces players to approach situations differently than a traditional fighting game as they now have to execute their attacks in tandem with their partner lest they be overwhelmed.

Escaptain from PipoGame
Are you tired of endless runners that only have one character? Sick of the same old same old? Then take a gander at Escaptain, a wacky new sidescroller with a twist that blends horde based mechanics and special characters for a unique blast of endless fun. As players run in this game they’ll also find extra characters throughout the level they can free and add to their party for extra strength. Playing around with this class based system is alot of fun and gives Escaptain a decidedly different flavor.

Freaky Prey from Prehistoric Pixel
A hilarious new action puzzler from the indie studio behind Chikammonth, Prehistoric Pixel, Freaky Prey feels like Babel Rising as if it were redesigned by Rube Goldberg. As an angry deity rudely awoken from his centuries long slumber by unsuspecting bunnies, players must smite these interlopers Indiana Jones style by rolling about and crushing them with your divine portliness. These rabbit explorers like to hide though, so you’ll need to use a whole slew of godly tools like trampolines and skull fans in order to track them down.

Gear Ball from Jados Games
This addicting new physics puzzler from indie dev Jados Games puts an interesting spin on the genre by placing just as much importance on strategy as it does on skill. Players will need to get a special gear into place to beat each level, but it wont be easy as the factory Gear Ball is set in is like something out of Willy Wonka. Imagine The Incredible Machine repurposed as an arcade game and you’ll have a good idea of what Gear Ball is all about.

Infinite Giraffe from Flaming Horse Games
Infinite Giraffe is a new endless arcade game from Flaming Horse Games that puts you in control of, well, an infinite giraffe. For whatever reason our dear Infinite Giraffe’s neck wont stop growing. It keeps growing to infinity, which isn’t terribly nice when you’re finding yourself up against a constant barrage of deadly obstacles! Dodge them by tilting your device from side to side or if you’re in a really tricky spot press on the screen to activate slo-motion. It’s fun, it’s free, and it’s totally worth checking out! Jumba Walla from Neocubo
Aliens, cavemen, and tons of beat ‘em up action, what’s not to love about Jumba Walla? A kooky retro sidescroller about a neanderthal on a mission, Jumba Walla features great graphics and satisfying combo based gameplay. With its unique premise and retro style Jumba Walla reminds me of something like what you’d expect to have come out for the Sega Saturn, and that’s a good thing.

Lava Bird from Unept
Lava Bird is an incredibly unique and ridiculously addictive spin on the classic Flappy Bird formula. You are Lava Bird, an adorable little bird that has an unfortunate medical condition that makes him spit balls of lava every time he flaps his wings. This condition has it’s own set of pros and cons though. The pro: these balls of lava can be used to hit enemies that approach you from behind. The con: each flap of your wings makes a new obstacle for you to avoid!
Lava Bird’s unique take on the Flappy Bird genre is easily one of the best I have played to date. The fun new gameplay twists, the adorable art style, the enthralling epic storyline, and the complete lack of IAP make Lava Bird an absolute must download game!

Machineers from Lohika
The critically acclaimed construction puzzler Machineers has finally arrived on Android and it’s just as good as ever. As the sole repairman in a bizarre but lovable world populated by metallic folk players must fix a variety of different objects that each present their own different challenges. Machineers charming atmosphere and engaging mix of puzzles make it one of the more unique puzzlers out there.

Meditating Monk from Nikr3n
From the indie developer behind the fantastic sleeper hit Kitten Challenge, Robert Nikicionek(aka Nikr3n), comes an insanely addicting new twitch arcade game called Meditating Monk that is sure to devour oodles of your time. Similar to the game Balance Of The Shaolin but way better, Meditating Monk features a similar premise with players balancing a kung fu master atop a precipice but this time around uses the much more intuitive accelerometer for movement rather than Shaolin’s imprecise tap controls. The objective is simple, players only need to keep their monk balanced and put a foot in the face of any interfering fowl, but that is easier said than done in this awesome new game.

MUJO from Oink Games
Puzzle games with fighting or RPG elements are all the rage these days, meaning devs who want to stand out from the crowd to think outside the box. One such unique game is indie studio Oink Games’ charmingly mythic new action puzzler MUJO, a match-3 with a godly focus. After choosing a champion deity from the pantheon of Greek gods players will go to war against a horde of evil mythical creatures with strategic puzzle based combat. There’s lots of stuff to unlock and cool features like the ability to summon additional gods for help, which gives MUJO its own distinct vibe.

Partia 1 & 2 from Imago Software
Imago Software’s Fire Emblem inspired strategy RPG Partia and its sequel have finally arrived on Android for those who just can’t get enough 16-bit tactics in their life. If you’ve ever played any of the Final Fantasy Tactics or Shining Force games you’ll have a good idea of what to expect from Partia, as it borrows heavily from those classics while adding in some ideas of its own. Strategy buffs and RPG aficionados alike will definitely want to check the Partia games out.

Payback 2 from Apex Designs
Payback 2 takes everything that worked about the original and amps it up with more modern gameplay sensibilities and a whole litany of action packed game types to enjoy. In this open world jack of all trades you can participate in a high octane street race to the death, declare a one man war with your own personal tank, or just run around like a maniac gunning down rival gangs. There’s a ton of stuff to do which is what gives Payback 2 such an interesting atmosphere, you never quite know what’s going to pop up next as if you were playing a mobile version of one of the Saint’s Row games. This version also has something the GBA original never had, online multiplayer. This time around you can take the battle online against friend and enemy alike as you fight it out in any number of different modes, even if they’re on iOS as Payback 2 supports cross platform multiplayer.

PinChoo Marbles from Apsisware
An engaging new arcade style physics puzzler, PinChoo Marbles is a good approximation of what you’d get if you crossed Marble Madness with Angry Birds. Players need to launch a marble around each level in search of coins and powerups while making sure not to blow themselves up or fall off a cliff. It’s great fun launching the marble about and the levels are very well designed.

Puzzles & Pixies from 10Tons
From the same indie studio that brought you Trouserheart and Grim Joggers comes an addicting new match 3 puzzler that hides a wealth of challenge behind its charmingly innocent veneer. Like most match 3 puzzlers the object here is to link like puzzle pieces together in order to clear the board, but unlike most match 3 puzzlers Puzzles & Pixies is devilishly challenging in its sheer complexity. If you’re tired of boringly easy match 3 puzzlers be sure to give Puzzles & Pixies a try!

QUATTS from Kaasa Games
The studio behind the Giana Sisters Android remake, Kaasa Games, is back with a gorgeous new original platformer that’s equal parts Super Meat Boy and Impossible Game. In this aesthetically minimal yet functionally challenging platformer players will need to make their way through a bizarre world full of deadly geometry in order to clear each stage. In addition to its solid platforming and great eye candy QUATTS also makes clever use of 3D perspective in 2D playing fields.

Shh, Zombies from Enigma 23
A quirky new strategy puzzler that comes across as a mix of Hitman Go and The Walking Dead, Shh, Zombies will keep you playing again and again in order to help your chiropractically challenged avatar escape the zombie apocalypse. It seems the survivors of this particular undead armageddon have taken to looking towards the sky to keep their spirits up, so much so in fact that now their heads are permanently stuck in that position which even hilariously carries over to their zombified forms. Players must help their friend plot a safe path through each level without attracting the unwanted attention of nearby zombies or running out of breath right in the middle of a horde of the living dead.

Snooze from Derp Software
I am not a morning person. Each morning my alarm goes off I end up hitting the snooze button at least a couple times, which more often than not leads to me rushing to get to work on time. So imagine my delight when I stumbled upon Snooze, a handy little app that keeps you from hitting the snooze button…. errr, hold on a second! That’s totally not true! Snooze is actually a fast paced endless arcade game of sheer awesomeness!
In Snooze you take control of a speedy little alarm clock that has found him/herself in one heck of a dangerous situation. You have been captured by the organizer of a well known robot fighting tournament – a tournament that pits you against deadly traps at breakneck speeds. Using simple one touch controls you must stay alive for as long as possible, though, this is easier said than done when you’re up against spikes, deadly spinning blades, and robot slicing laser beams!
Staying alive does have some perks though. First and foremost is you’ll earn a higher score which can be flaunted on the Google Plus leaderboards, but you can also unlock some awesome new alarm clock outfits and there’s some fun achievements to earn as well.

Space Zero from Borscht
Space Zero from Borscht is a truly beautiful and free space dodge/shoot ‘em-up that definitely deserves your attention. As you’d probably expect from a game in this genre your goal is to avoid enemies and their projectiles for as long as possible. To do this you’ll use the games simple swipe based control system – swipe left or right to move in the respective direction or swipe up to send out a blast from your special weapon. The controls are responsive and easy to get the hang of – so setting that new high score depends entirely on you.

Spin Runner from SnowGrains
Indie developer SnowGrains’ new subterranean sidescroller puts a new twist on the platformer genre, literally! As players run and jump their way through perilous caves and treacherous mountains things will occasionally take a turn for the worse as the entire level will begin to tilt 360 degrees around which puts a unique perspective on things to say the least. Tight gameplay, a unique premise, and charming graphics give Spin Runner a leg up on the competition.

Zombie Kill of the Week – Reborn from Still Running
After being taken down from Google Play last year one of 2013’s best shoot ‘em ups is back on Android and better than ever. A hardcore Left 4 Dead style zombie shooter done up with retro 2D visuals, Zombie Kill Of The Week was released in early 2013 by Panic Art Studios and went on to receive a warm reception and a fair amount of praise for its nostalgic re-imagining of modern zombie shooters. Unfortunately, to the dismay of its fans Zombie Kill Of The Week was removed some time later due to unforeseen circumstances. Normally this would spell the end for many a indie game but thankfully Zombie Kill Of The Week’s original creator and main programmer Santeri Relander decided to ressurect the project and after 9 months of grueling development rebuilding everything from scratch Zombie Kill Of The Week Reborn has arrived under the indie developer’s Still Running studio banner.
