In fine condition.John Cuthbert Salmon (1844-1917) was born on the 28th of February 1844 in Colchester, Essex.  He specialized in painting landscapes in both oil and watercolour, in North Wales and occasionally in Scotland.  He lived in Liverpool during the mid to late 1800's. Most of his time painting was spent between Tal-y-bont and Deganwy near Llandudno North Wales until his death in 1917. Exhibits were held at the Royal Academy and The New Watercolour Society from 1878 He was a member of the Liverpool Academy of Arts, and examples of his work may be seen at the Victoria and Albert Museum.  Other exhibits included The Royal Cambrian Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, Manchester City Art Gallery and The Royal Society of Artists.  He was also a member of Royal Institute of Oil Painters, British Institute and Royal Society of Artists.
John Cuthbert Salmon was born on the 28th of February 1844 in Colchester, Essex.
He was elected to membership of the Liver Sketching Club, Liverpool on 12 January 1879. Most of his time painting was spent between Tal-y-bont and Deganwy near Llandudno North Wales. He was a prominent member of the Artists' Club, Trefriw, which was founded in 1885 and was also a member of the Liverpool Academy of Arts, The Royal Cambrian Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the British Institute and the Royal Society of Artists. He died in 1917.
