Michael and I are always looking for new ways to plan out our travels and we recently discovered Tripla.

Tripla is a new, interactive, travel-planning tool by Villariaz, a travel company whose mission is to help travelers create awe-inspiring journeys while helping to fund life-changing projects around the world. In a world where poverty and lack of resources dominates a large part of the landscape, what better way for travelers to feel good about spending money on travel?

This travel-planning tool has been years in the making. It is designed to put the world at your fingertips. When you sign up for a free account, you can create and save itineraries, book hotel accommodations, add activities to your itinerary and invite friends to view your trip and collaborate to build a journey pleasing to everyone in your group.

Need a little guidance? Not to worry. There’s an online chat feature that connects the user directly to a Tripla travel concierge. You have a dedicated travel professional at your service to answer your questions and will book everything for you, if you wish, including your flights.

On the accommodations tab, simply enter the city you wish to search, arrival and departure dates, number of rooms and the number of adults and children in your party. You are then presented with a grid populated by hotel options, star rated, with lead in prices in Australian Dollars. Each hotel on the grid is clickable and gives such information as location, room types, additional fees, amenities, check-in and check-out time and a collection of photos to look at. There is a button to click and simply add the chosen property to your itinerary.

The activities tab pulls up a list of activities for your destination. These include sights, restaurants, shopping, bars and cafes. By clicking on a selected activity, you will then get more information such as the hours, directions, pictures and traveler reviews. You simply click the plus to add the activity to your itinerary.

The biggest advantage is that all reservations can be made on one platform, resulting in all itinerary details being in one place that is easily accessed through any device. The blog has a wealth of articles written by Tripla staff, punctuated by rich photos. In an industry punctuated by discount booking sites and poor customer service, Tripla should appeal to both the DIY crowd and those wanting more assistance.
