As a Solution Architect (level 4), you will support the delivery of a number of programmes for one of the most exciting and progressive government agencies. Working as part of our passionate and highly-motivated Government Services team, you will be at the forefront of development to ensure that the UK is a safe place to live and work. You will split your responsibilities between the delivery of programmes on the customer site and the growth of the Government Services business unit within Boeing.

Solution Architect responsibilities:
Your remit will include, but is not limited to:
• The development of architectural views to support the implementation of new/changed systems within the scope of the project
• Production of detailed system designs and component specifications to support the implementation of the selected system
• Provision of technical advice to stakeholders on the project
• Assurance that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices have been applied correctly to the proposed solution
• Proposal / bid work

You will be expected to drive the architecture, design and approach through:
• Selection and application of appropriate processes, tools and metrics
• Use your understanding of the business context to ensure that the appropriate cyber security elements are incorporated into any design
• Research and analysis into existing and emerging technologies to support the development of solutions

Communication skills and a business focus are key. You will be expected to:
• Produce solutions that fit the business need and can be traced back to the original requirements
• Ensure that solutions produced are understood by the stakeholders and that they meet the required standards

You will work under general direction and will be expected to pro-actively identify and manage risks for your area.

The candidate must be capable of completing the clients DV security clearance process and meet the requirements set by the Government process. The DV clearance process does include a mandatory drugs test and an in depth personally intrusive interview. It will then be the individual's responsibility to adhere to the government security restraints to maintain the security clearance in this role.

Qualifications
Required qualifications / experience:
• Demonstrable experience of working with staff at all levels, comfortable with conducting presentations and running meetings/workshops
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred qualifications / experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree from a recognised course of study in business, IT or engineering, together with relevant business experience
• Experience in the design of solutions in complex, highly secure environments
• Experience in the use of TOGAF / MODAF or equivalent frameworks to develop solutions
• Good understanding of cyber security principles and their importance in solution architecture
• Accredited as a Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or equivalent
• Experienced in data analysis and the use of Unified Modelling Language (UML)
• Experience of the Archimate 2.0 notation
• Broad knowledge of general IT management (such as application selection/development, IT infrastructure, project and supplier management)
• Experience of working within a multinational matrix management environment / structure and a large-scale, complex international organization, but also within small teams
