Could your grocery budget use a makeover, now that the school year is back in session–even if you don’t have kids going back to school? I know I could as this will be my first year as an empty nester. I need to do a better job of grocery shopping for two, not four, and not over buying and over cooking and therefore ending up throwing away food that rotted in my fridge.

I’ve partnered with Erin Chase of $5 Dinners to bring you this one-week exclusive to sign up for her 2015 grocery budget makeover. Erin is sharing a small commission with me for each subscriber who signs up for the program. (I’ll be one of those who signs up!) Registration is September 8-15, 2015 only.

Not familiar with Erin’s amazing blog $5 Dinners? Here’s a little background about her:

Years ago I would wander through the grocery store, randomly grabbing ingredients that I thought would make a nice, simple meal and tossing them into my cart. I didn’t pay attention to shelf tags, sale prices, store ads…I just showed up, shopped and left.

I also flushed way too much money down the drain with this kind of shopping style.

I set out to cut our family grocery bill and was able to reduce it by half, from $500 to $250 (for our then family of 4). The combination of strategies and tactics that I utilized completely changed the way I shop forever. There’s a lot to the grocery planning process and routine and when you have all the pieces working well together, you will start to see significant savings.

The one and only place that I have all the pieces to the puzzle pulled into one place is here, in the Grocery Budget Makeover.

While I’ve shared many, many, many budget friendly recipes on $5 Dinners for almost 7 years, I’ve never actually pulled together all of my shopping, meal planning, couponing and cooking strategies into one place. That’s what the Grocery Budget Makeover is all about…it’s all my secrets and tactics, put together in a way that’s easy to digest (pun intended!) and guides you on a journey to spending way less money on groceries than you are now.

I thought I was doing well, spending $500 to $600 on our family of four (which sometimes grew to a family of five when a daughter’s boyfriend would spend time with us–boy, do boys eat a lot and drink a lot of milk. Guess I was lucky having only girls; I don’t know how families with boys survive). But Erin’s Grocery Budget Makeover program is talking about saving families like mine up to $200 a month. That’s $2,400 a year. Imagine what you could do with an extra $2,400 in your annual budget?

Throughout the week I’ll be posting more about Erin’s program, so you can become familiar with it and decide if it makes sense for you to sign up. Tomorrow, I’ll share with you some of the testimonials Erin has collected over the years from people who have successfully employed her techniques to slash hundreds from their grocery shopping budgets.
