GIA (Gemological Institute of America), a nonprofit institute considered the world leader in gem and jewellery education, is conducting a practical five-day programme on diamonds in Patna starting May 26th, 2014.GIA student, Amit Jain, Rourkela (Jharkhand) says “Studying at GIA was a very nice experience. Students in GIA’s Diamond Grading Lab Class work with real diamonds and professional Gemmological tools to uncover the fascinating world inside these gems. The class teaches both technical and practical ways to observe and evaluate diamond quality, and the basics of the famous 4Cs (colour, cut, clarity and carat weight), an evaluation system created by GIA. Students also learn how the 4Cs can affect value and about the ways in which diamond treatments can affect the appearance of a stone.
