Hi Friends…back with a Friday Edit today! So sorry for the radio silence around here this week. I planned to be fully back to work on Monday as I published the Whole 30 post and diving into the new routine of meal planning and clean eating, my body quickly told me that it had plans of it’s own. I was exhausted and found myself lacking motivation and inspiration. I started writing the same post 4 times and it never felt fun to talk about the topic, so I just didn’t. Instead, I caught up on back end stuff and dug myself out of my inbox…which had both been neglected over the past few months.
Over the past week everyone has been chatting about their “word of the year” and I felt frustrated that I couldn’t find a word to accurately describe how I wanted to enter into 2017. It wasn’t until I stepped back from the blog and took care of myself a little bit that I realized the word I would use to inspire me into this year and new content. That word is AWARE. I want to be aware of myself…my body, my habits, my eating, my health and how I’m spending my time. I want to be aware of my family…their needs and wants, their health, their dependency on me (especially with a new baby) and how important it is for me to be present with them mentally and physically. I also want to be aware of you guys…how you want to take in content, what you are most interested in, what’s going on and relevant in your world and how I can create posts that make your life easier. So…there ya have it…cheers to being more AWARE in 2017!!! What’s your word for the year or resolution? I’d love to hear!

This cute little top is one of my favorite impulse buys from December. It was just so fun and happy hanging there in the store that I literally could not leave it behind. It’s under $50, too, so very little guilt. I wore it layered up with a festive plaid for the Holidays and plan to continue wearing it until Valentines day. So cute with boyfriend jeans or a little pleated skirt!

As a fun winter “pick me up” these new leopard flats are kind of amazing in every way. Clearly, I’m all for a good leopard print, but I love the shape and tiny heel on these…makes them perfect to dress up just a tad.
