Communications Director UK

So. My news this week. I am extremely delighted, honoured and taken aback to have been appointed this week to the Board of Directors of FIPI (Federation of Image Professionals International UK).

What is FIPI?

FIPI is a non-profit professional organisation that provides a leading light for the image & style profession in the UK and internationally supporting members to set the benchmark for excellence by providing leadership, learning opportunities and links with the right people and services.

Shortly after I started Stylefish I discovered FIPI and for a long time had been keeping an eye on what they do and how they strive to improve standards of training and support for women who want to work in fashion. This immediately appealed to me. However, at that time I was a little fish in a big pond (pardon the pun). Over the last 4 years I have steadily grown my business and my relationship with some wonderful women who are part of FIPI, most especially Geraldine Wijsbeek (the now President of FIPI) and based in the Netherlands. Geraldine is the most amazingly colourful, warm and generous lady who is so passionate about the image industry. Geraldine has worked in the image business for 25 years and is the first person I have encountered who practices Fashion Feng Shui (which I am very curios to learn more about!)!

‘Embrace your soul with your clothes and you will start recognising yourself and not feel as if you live someone else’s life or dreams.’

I am so thrilled to have been appointed Director of Communications for the UK with a remit including improving communications and opportunities for members & personal stylists; linking FIPI with it’s membership aswell as more closely with the modern fashion industry. I am super excited to get to work more in the UK, develop a network over there and through Stylefish also working to showcase a high standard of training and commitment to women who love fashion as much as us and want to explore that passion with some training and support!
