There is so much fun going on in October. Not only is the weather the closest thing to perfection that the year ever  delivers up, the sky is bluer, the colors are gorgeous and the city cries, “Come play with me!”

Here are 5 events to consider RSVP’ing YES to, along with a little help with what to wear. And, if none of these tickle your fancy and you want more options, stay tuned for our post next week filled with many different fun things to do in Nashville during this oh-so-perfect month. (But, next week there are no what to wear suggestions, so embrace today.)

Nashville Wine Auction: Champagne and Chardonnay
When: October 3, 2013
Time: 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Where: Home of Kelly Pappas Crockett at 6145 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville, TN 37215
Tickets: $100 includes wine tastings and hors d’oeurves by Kristen Winston Catering
Information: www.nashvillewineauction.com

At this exclusive ladies-only event, sponsored by Saint Thomas Health, Domaine Chandon, Newton Vineyards and Dr. Mark Whaley, DDS, guests will enjoy a beautiful night out drinking Champagne and Chardonnay with their girlfriends, while raising money to fund the fight against cancer.

Luxury brands Jimmy Choo and Tory Burch will have representatives on hand to allow guests to shop for stunning shoes, exquisite handbags and beautiful fashion accessories, such as Judith Ripka jewelry. Ladies will
be able to try on shoes featuring the latest fall fashions and take them home after the event. A percentage of the
proceeds will go to benefit the Nashville Wine Auction (the oldest charity wine auction in the country).

And if you don’t like Chardonnay? You most likely haven’t found the right one. “You can get a whole variety of styles depending on what type of Chardonnay you buy … And don’t forget that Chardonnay is also one of the key grapes in the making of Champagne – and who doesn’t love Champagne?” – Vivek Surti, Nashville Wine Auction

SB What to Wear Tip: This is a girls’ night out on steroids. Shopping, charity and wine all together. Wear your jeans and a fun top or a dress that allows you to chat with friends in comfort. We partnered with Blue Bohemian boutique to gather these looks for this event. www.blue-bohemian.com

Experience a gorgeous fall evening with the Nashville city skyline as your backdrop. Hosted by Anne Davis and Mayor Karl Dean this event attracts local politicians and advocates for a greener Nashville, as well as those who simply enjoy our greenways with gusto!

SB What to Wear Tip: Many will be coming straight from work and the timing requires layers for many, as Oct 3rd often has a chill in the air. Think coat and tie or coat without tie for men, or even a sweater for the more casual guy. But, leave your jeans at home, as the company is more law firm than it is music industry chic. We partnered with J. McLaughlin to gather these looks for this event. www.jmclaughlin.com

This one-time-only fundraising event looks to be a whole lot of fun with cocktails, seated dinner, auction, live entertainment and anticipated surprises. For the younger crowd there will also be a Trunks Up party that will be operating simultaneously with a DJ and dancing, heavy hors d’ouevres and cocktails. You know the event will be gorgeous with Amos Events in charge.

SB What to Wear Tip: It’s black tie, so men, your outfit is easy: penguin suit. Women, think cocktail, not gala or ball. Also, as this is a one-time event think FUN. Maybe go for that women’s tuxedo look or throw on a huge elephant necklace. We partnered with Designer FINDS for some choices to this fun event.  www.designerfindsofgreenhills.com

SB Tip on What to Wear: The timing of this event is perfect for leaving church and heading straight to the event. Thus, it’s definitely after church, as in dressy church, attire. Sport coats are fine, no need for a suit. You will be outside, so comfortably chic in pants or a dress is perfect for ladies. Wear shoes that don’t sink into the grass! We partnered with The French Shoppe and the Oxford Shop for this event. www.frenchshoppe.com  and theoxfordshop.com

Notice the black slimming detail that runs down the side.
