There is no doubt in my mind that you will absolutely adore Emily and Arie’s beautifully modern romantic wedding in Spain. In case, you think Emily and Arie look a little familiar, I did actually feature their London wedding here

The couple first met a dinner with mutual friends in London. ‘My older sister introduced us and tried to set us up,’ explains Emily. ‘I was so focused on my Masters degree at the time that I ignored all his pursuits to win me over. One day, he tricked me into a dinner date. We ordered so many desserts, I knew he was a keeper. My sister had tipped him off that I have a big sweet tooth!’

Emily and Arie were together for three years before Arie proposed on a weekend trip to Paris. ‘As the trip was suggested by me, I had no idea he was going to propose,’ says Emily. ‘He said it was the hardest thing ever to keep a surprise, he is usually rubbish at keeping things a secret. It had been raining so heavily and we finally managed to go for a walk in the park just as the rain stopped. He got down on two knees as he was so nervous! It was amazing. We laughed and cried a lot.’

Emily found her stunning Monique Lhuillier dress at Browns Bride in London. ‘It didn’t take me long to find one I liked as I knew exactly the style I wanted,’ says Emily. Her veil was by Toni Federici and her rose gold sandals were by Sophia Webster.

When it came to the style of their wedding, Emily categorically did not want to do rustic, and want for a modern romantic wedding look. ‘Our signage and table plan was made using perspex which was so unique,’ says Emily. The colours we chose for our wedding were white, blush and gold. We let the amazing surroundings of our venue do the rest.’

Emily and Arie got married on September 4th 2016 in Molino Del Duque in Manilva, Spain.

‘ None of our wedding would have been possible without our amazing wedding planner Carla and her team at Tucco Events, ‘says Emily. ‘Our flowers were by Pedro Navarro, who also styled the wedding, he is the best in Andalucia. ‘Our centrepieces were my favourite, Pedro designed a completely unique piece, four bunches of flowers surrounding a beautiful candelabra. They were breathtaking.’

If you are planning a wedding abroad, you will definitely take many ideas away from Emily and Arie’s stunning modern romantic wedding. It was photographed by El Marco Rojo.
