The end of October approaches and we have been enjoying the hotly anticipated Autumn-Winter 2015-2016 collection for over a month now. The new season comprises of an exciting range of clothing, shoes and accessories from a plethora of renowned and brand new designers, complete with a selection of top trends you should all be looking out for.
From traditional tartan patterns, 1970′s inspired shearling trims, cosy knitwear, on-trend colours and more, join us as we take a look at what will be making waves in designer’s collections this Autumn and Winter here at Zee & Co.
Cosy Knits
The cold weather in the Autumn and Winter months calls for plenty of warm and comfortable layers. Therefore, an item of knitwear or two in your wardrobe is essential. Composed in luxuriously soft fabrics such as cashmere, new wool, angora and cotton, this season welcomes in a varied selection of thin and chunky knits with classic detailing such as cable knit patterns that are combined with roll-necks, crew necks and button-down closures.

Cream
Every season brings a brand new focal colour, and for Autumn-Winter 2015-2016, cream is one of these colours. Cream makes an appearance across women’s clothing, shoes and accessories, becoming the prominent colour or a contrast detail tone. Seen on a whole host of fabrics, below cream features predominantly on a faux fur coat from Patrizia Pepe, on one of Michael Kors’ popular mini messenger bags and finally, on two different comfortable knits by Armani Jeans and 360 Sweater.

Fringe Trim
Nothing says ’1970s’ like the fringe trim. Trimming coats, dresses, footwear and accessories, fringing ranges from the subtle detail to a style that fully embraces it all over. Take the Diane Von Furstenberg Black Fringe Gloves below for a more subtle use of this popular trim whilst both pairs of Sam Edelman shoes places a great emphasis on it.

Fur & Faux Fur
Fur was largely used last Autumn and Winter, and it has made a large comeback for the second half of 2015 and early 2016. Coats are trimmed with cosy fur panels, fur ruffs are added to the classic parka jacket, beautiful fur scarves, stoles and cuffs are available in multiple dyed colours. You can also catch the addition of fur on shoes, accessories and luxuriously soft tops this season. Deisngers such as Patrizia Pepe, Diane Von Furstenberg, Charlotte Simone, Canada Goose, Giuseppe Zanotti and Michael Kors have all got on board with the fur trend, featuring largely in their collections.
For those of you opposed to wearing real animal fur, there are plenty of faux fur alternatives available this season from designers at Zee & Co.

Grey
As well as cream, another colour that is featuring heavily in collections this Autumn and Winter is the colour grey. A versatile colour, grey can be worn alongside a bolder colour or alone for a more neutral colour. Available across women’s footwear, accessories and clothing, the colour grey can be added to one item in your outfit, or style your whole look in this colour.
Below you’ll see four different items that show the versatility of this shade. This season, Michael Kors has added this colour to a host of bags such as their generously sized Harper Bag, Polo Ralph Lauren embraces two of this season’s trends into one-the use of grey and a roll neck, Charlotte Simone adds grey to this season’s must-have fur scarf and Patrizia Pepe creates an elegant jumper dress in this shade.

Monochrome
For a truly classy style, embrace this season’s Monochrome style. Adopt a sleek black look or break up the colour with shades of white. Encompassing accessories, shoes and clothing such as dresses, knitwear and leggings, black is a slimming colour whilst creating an air of sophistication too.

Oversized Fits
The perfect layering piece, oversized fits are definitely in this season. You will see it across a range of outerwear, knits, dresses and tops in particular. Despite its oversized style, most garments are constructed with flattering details, such as waist tie or drawcord closures to cinch in the waist, along with visible shaping seams.

Puffa Jackets
A fashion favourite during the colder autumn and winter weather, puffa jackets are fully lined and offer maximum warmth and comfort. Practical features include multiple pockets, durable zip and press-stud closures, the occasional attached hood and warm duck down filling.

Roll Necks
An Autumn and Winter favourite, the classic roll neck returns once again for Autumn-Winter ’15-’16 in many designer’s collections. The perfect accompaniment to many casual or smart-casual looks, a roll neck knit can be worn with a pair of classic trousers or leggings to finish off a smart style, whilst combining with a pair of jeans creates a more laidback, casual outfit.

Shearling
Shearling often makes an appearance in Autumn and Winter fashion, and it is present once again this season. Acting as a luxuriously soft trim on a wide variety of outerwear, footwear and accessories, not only does it create plenty of warmth, but it also provides the finishing touch to a garment.

Tartan
Tartan often makes an appearance in designer’s collections, and this Autumn and Winter it returns once more. Whilst a large selection of brands are embracing this classic print, Vivienne Westwood will always be the designer largely associated with it. Her tartan prints go back to her punk routes established in London in the 1970s, and continue today in either classic red and black tartan styles or brand new striking additions.
