Orlebar Brown has taken the men’s luxury designer swimwear market by storm in just five short years, on the back of a design philosophy which believes that men should look as good on the beach as they do in the bar. Gone are the days of baggy board shorts and brightly coloured boxers; tailored shapes and flattering fits are the order of the day.

Photographer Adam Brown was inspired to launch Orlebar Brown in 2007, after attending a party at which the women looked great in their swimwear and the men looked “pretty ghastly”. Brown decided to create his own line of men’s swimming shorts, designed to look great on the beach and yet still smart enough to go for a drink or lunch. Clearly there were plenty of men who agreed with him; Orlebar Brown is now celebrating five years in business and opening a flagship store in Sackville Street in London’s West End.

Orlebar Brown swim shorts come in several different models, including the Dane, the Bulldog and the Setter. They are all smart, fitted shorts in flattering close-to-the-body cuts in a variety of lengths, and come in a range of colours and understated patterns. They are manufactured by hand in either Portugal or the UK, using only the best quality French fabrics and Italian hardware. Although the collection has now grown to include polo shirts, shorts and trousers, jackets, sweats and accessories, it is their swimwear which continues to define Orlebar Brown as the ultimate resort brand, beloved of celebrities and fashion fans the world over.

At Zee & Co we are celebrating the 2012 summer season collection and Orlebar Brown’s 5th anniversary by giving away a free Beach and Surf Balm with every Orlebar Brown purchase (while stocks last).
