Focus on Winter Tailoring
Tailoring is the hottest trend for winter 2013, with many of our top brands producing stunning collections of suits, fitted jackets and smart overcoats. A great-fitting suit never goes out of style, and is perfect for the forthcoming party season. Blazers and smart jackets are hot property right now; they are truly versatile, looking great with everything from jeans and t-shirts to tailored trousers and shirts. And a sharp overcoat can keep you looking stylish all season, whatever the weather. We therefore bring you our guide to the latest tailoring must-haves for this season.
Blazers and Fitted Jackets
The blazer has been with us as a fashion staple for several seasons now, but continues to go from strength to strength. We have some great pieces from labels such as Scotch & Soda, Hamaki-Ho, Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith, Hugo Boss, J. Lindeberg, Polo Ralph Lauren, McQ and Barbour. They vary in style from the more casual sports jacket to the ultra-smart tailored suit jacket, even incorporating integral waistcoats in some cases. Fabric and colour varies widely also, with everything from tweed to velvet and plain black to contrasting panels of colour. Hugo Boss naturally represents the more classic fitted suit jacket, with Vivienne Westwood adding a touch of humour and boldness to the mix. Scotch & Soda and Hamaki-Ho are at the more casual end of the spectrum, with their fashion blazers available in a variety of fabrics and finishes. Ralph Lauren and Barbour bring a more classic element to our collection, with fashionable sports blazers available in traditional fabrics such as herringbone tweed. Suits
Hugo Boss and Paul Smith are the backbone of our designer suit collection, and this season is no exception. Hugo Boss in particular has produced yet another stunning range of impeccably cut two and three-piece suits. They feature an on-trend slim fit and are mostly made in pure virgin wool fabric for a sleek finish, and are available in all the classic colours from navy to charcoal grey. If you’re going ultra-smart wear yours with a crisp white shirt, designer accessories and black dress shoes. For a slightly more relaxed look, try a pastel shirt and brown leather brogues.

Overcoats
Any tailored look needs a great overcoat to protect it from the elements this winter. Why not take a look at our Hugo Boss, Vivienne Westwood or McQ Alexander McQueen collections for some outstanding outerwear. We love this Vivienne Westwood ‘Melton’ coat in black. It is a long mid-thigh cut in a unique frock style which is fitted at the top and hangs beautifully at the bottom, with a smart collar and lapels and large branded buttons to complete the look. McQ has a similar look in this classic cable coat, featuring a concealed button fastening. Alternatively, for a more traditional look try this Coxtan coat from Hugo Boss. It is made in a warm wool and cashmere blend, and has neat, clean lines. The high notched collar that will keep out the chill, and this smart yet simple coat will go well with any outfit from suits to jeans.
