July for us means happy camping, lazy picnics, family fun and school holiday escapes. Making it one of our most treasured months of the year. In bigger headlines we also can’t wait for the impending news of Kate and Will’s first born. We wonder if it’s a boy or a girl? Anyway without further ado here is July’s line up of happenings for a jolly nice time…

 

Pride and Prejudice: Regents Park Open Air Theatre 20 June – 20 July

Make the most of the summer twilight with Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre programme of plays and musicals; from The Winter’s Tale and Sound of Music to the now showing romantic comedy adaptation of our Jane Austen favourite Pride and Prejudice, directed by Deborah Bruce. Available to pre-book for matinees is the tempting added extra of Open Air Afternoon Tea (to accompany your theatrical experience). How very English!



 

Dorset Seafood Festival 13- 14 July

Sample some of the freshest seafood down in Weymouth Harbour at the famous Dorset Seafood Festival. Boasting over 90 stalls and live demos by renowned chefs Mark Hix and John Wright from River Cottage, we can’t wait to samples some mouth-watering seafood delicacies whilst enjoying some fresh sea air.





 

New Heritage Collection: online now

To mark our 60th anniversary, we’ve launched the Heritage Collection; five of our most iconic archive prints are back in their original hues as well as a handful of fresh new carefully produced re-colourations. Welcome back Mr Jones, Emma, Ironwork Scroll, Clarissa and Pelham.

Let’s go glamping with Canopy & Stars!

We recently came across website Canopy & Stars; our new go-to for places to stay with a twist. Those quirky little nooks across Britain, Spain, France and Portugal of a glamping nature! From treehouses and yurts to converted horsetrucks, author Alaistair Sawday and his son Toby have cherry picked the very best weird and wonderful alternatives for the outdoorsy happy glampers.

Bath Fashion Museum: Laura Ashley: The Romantic Heroine exhibition 13 July – 26 August

The line up of Laura Ashley 60th anniversary celebrations continues at The Bath Fashion Museum this July. This insightful exhibition takes a look at the vision of the romantic heroine that Laura Ashley gave to fashion in the 1960′s and 1970′s, prompting a generation of young women to dress up in the style of Thomas Hardy’s milkmaid from Tess of the d’Urbevilles or Cathy from Wuthering Heights. The largest Laura Ashley retrospective ever, expect over 75 pieces loaned from our Welsh + London archives plus 25 pieces of their own!

 

RHS Hampton Court Flower Show: 9 – 14 July

If the spectacle at RHS Chelsea Flower Show was anything to go by, RHS Hampston Court Palace Flower Show isn’t something to be missed. Unveiling an exciting new look expect the introduction of themed zones, exploring different moods; Inspire, Grow and Escape.

 

Retro Feasts: Pop up food & drink concept. Central London

It seems we’re not the only ones feeling nostalgic this summer. Luke Thomas and Mark Fuller (two of the chef’s from BBC3’s British Youngest Head Chef) have partnered up to bring us a 6 month pop up food and drink concept (Retro Feasts) to London’s west end (Embassy nightclub) with a menu based on all our childhood favourites! Retro Brit food with a twist? Sounds like our kind of grub.
