Trenton Makes. The World Takes.

Or some some bridge in New Jersey states.

The Lower Trenton Toll Bridge to be exact.

Something like that...

Well, this past weekend, Trenton was home to the type of expected, garden variety black-in-origin violence we've come to know will automatically be buried. [1 dead, 5 injured in shooting at club on MLK Jr. Boulevard in Trenton, News 12 New Jersey, 3-8-14]:

Police say an early morning shooting at a converted after-hours club in Trenton left one person dead and five others injured.

The incident took place on the 900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard just before 5 a.m. Saturday at an illegal speakeasy-type of club.

Police say a total of four people were shot after an argument broke out. The names of the victims have not been released, but the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office says the man who died was 43 years old. A 30-year-old man is in critical condition and another man and woman are stable. Two women trying to run from the building suffered burns when grease spilled from a deep fryer.
That one man's dream has ushered in a never-ending nightmare across all of America is the type of post-script Wes Craven and Clive Barker could have only hoped for in their "horror" movies.

Shootings and crime on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvds, Drives, Streets and Avenues are a despondent reminder that no matter the good intentions behind legislation, nature will always find a way to return.

Always.

Genes, unlike politicians, don't lie.

But it's what happened only hours later that makes this story a true representation of the old adage "Trenton Makes. The world takes."

A shooting in the black community is immediately a cause for a memorial.

Danger Will Robinson! Danger!

A vigil.

And such a celebration of life and remembrance is a gathering of impending death.  [Police: Two Trenton men shot at homicide scene outside after-hours night club, NJ.com, 3-9-14]:

One city man is critically wounded and another was injured today when shots were fired toward an impromptu memorial at the illegal, after-hours night club on Martin Luther King Boulevard where another city man died and others were seriously injured early Saturday morning, officials said.

A 44-year-old Trenton man is in extremely critical condition tonight after being shot in the head around 4 p.m. while sitting inside an SUV parked outside 919 Martin Luther King Blvd., Saturday’s homicide scene, said Casey DeBlasio, a spokeswoman for the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.

“Multiple rounds were fired into the SUV," DeBlasio said. "The SUV was struck multiple times."

The unidentified man was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton by the driver of the vehicle, she said.

Another man, identified as a 21-year-old city resident, was shot in the hand while standing in a group of about 20 mourners gathered near the memorial site, Police Lt. Steve Varn said. That victim was transported by ambulance to Capital Health in Trenton, treated and released, DeBlasio said.
We live in a country where Martin Luther King's "dream" came true.

It's a story like this, of life in 2014 Trenton, that truly illustrates the poignancy of this point.

But what if MLK's "dream" had never become the blueprint of this country's future?

Such a thought is easily the most scandalous one an individual can have in America during the "enlightened" age of Obama and the continually progressive age we... progress toward.

Right?

The toleration of the continued indignity of being white is the hallmark of a good citizen believes, in a country where Martin Luther's King "dream" has become the compass pointing toward a future utopia, or so say the eternally anointed.

But a shooting on a street bearing his name, and then a retaliatory shooting on the same street at a vigil held for the prior shooting is a story you'll never, ever see told on a national level.

It's barely news for the citizens of Trenton, for that matter those living in New Jersey.

Trenton Makes. The World Takes.

No.

We believed in equality. The Rest of the World Takes.

The toll for the implementation of MLK's "dream?"

Civilization.
