“From the high desert and the great American Southwest…”

The time has come once again, folks.

On July 20, 2015, Art Bell returns with a new online paranormal broadcast titled Midnight in the Desert, available free on the Dark Matter Digital Network. The program will air 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. PDT, 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. EDT, Monday through Friday, for as far as the road takes us.

You’ll be able to listen (again, for free) on your PC at ArtBell.com and the Dark Matter Digital Network, or on your smartphone or tablet with the free TuneIn app.

If you’re looking for a bit more, you may want to become a so-called “Time Traveler” for $5 a month, which will grant you access to episode archives, the “Wormhole,” and other exclusive content. Midnight in the Desert will also be followed by a “post show” titled The Other Side of Midnight, hosted by Richard C. Hoagland.

Personally, I’m very curious to see how this whole thing turns out. It’s online, it’s free. I’ll be listening. Will you?

The Blitz

I also want to mention this, because I do lurk Bellgab on occasion, and I think it’s cool.

Here’s the deal: Bellgab users have been getting pretty creative lately with what they call “The Blitz.” Think of it as community-driven promotion for Midnight in the Desert. The flyer up there, for example, was created by user NXOEED, and they’ve been posting copies of it out there in the real world.

Other members have been designing graphics and spreading the word, going so far as to contact actual radio stations in hopes they’ll consider broadcasting the show on terrestrial radio. There are already a number of stations that have committed to doing so. Incluindg KNYE.

Meanwhile, Bellgab user Jazmunda has created a number of video trailers, including the one at the top of this post.

The community, as you can see, is pretty enthusiastic for Art’s return.

Wanna Take A[nother] Ride?

Anyway, there’s just one more thing I want to mention here because it’s personally exciting: the following trailer by Jazmunda, highlighting the “Well to Hell” incident.

What’s so special about this one is that includes audio from the episode of Dark Matter during which Art Bell read aloud an excerpt from one of my old posts (“In the 1980s…”).

Hearing that when it happened was a trip, and it’s very cool in this trailer, as well. Of course, Mr. Bell makes my writing sound far more terrifying than the voice in my mind ever did!
