Analog to IP video surveillance is really picking up and has already become a commemorating trend in most parts of the world. Citing this reason as a business prospect, Axis communication has come up with Axis T8646 PoE + over Coax Blade which is capable of leveraging existing analog infrastructure in an enterprise with IP camera world.

Basically, there are several ways to migrate from analog CCTV to IP surveillance and two such popular ways are to use video encoders and media converters. These hardware components can be used in an enterprise existing cabling and will prove extremely beneficial from an investment and business continuity point of view.

Thus, with the help of Axis T8646 PoE + over Coax blade, a surveillance manager can leverage coaxial cabling while still enjoying the full fledged benefits of IP Video. In order to complete this solution, an Axis T8642 Ethernet over Coax Device Unit PoE+ is used on the IP camera side. In this arrangement, the network camera receives power over coax cable using the new rack-mountable Axis T8082 and Axis T8085 power supply solutions, making installation and maintenance cost effective.

Axis T8646 will be sold both as a single blade unit for $699 and as a kit of one Axis T8646 blade and six Axis T8642 device units at $1699.

Axis T8646 will be available from the last week of April 2014 through Axis distribution channels.
