Fellow GOP Delegate Ron George calls on Dwyer to resign
Annapolis, Md. – Delegate Ron George has released the following statement regarding Delegate Don Dwyer. “Out of concern for others who could be harmed and for Don Dwyer himself, I call on him to resign and get help. His constituents deserve good representation.”

An Anne Arundel County Police spokesman says that Dwyer, the 55-year-old Annapolis resident who represents Maryland’s 31st District in the House of Delegates, was taken into custody early Tuesday morning on Route 100 near Edwin Raynor Boulevard in Pasadena.
Authorities say that a patrol officer spotted Dwyer’s car, which bears House of Delegates tags, driving erratically Route 100 just before 12:45 a.m.
After he was pulled over, the Delegate failed each of the three sobriety tests he was given. Dwyer told the arresting officer that he was going home from a bar in Baltimore and had earlier consumed two beers.
Dwyer was sentenced in May to 30 days in jail several months after he crashed his boat last Aug. 22. Nine people, including several children, were seriously injured in the crash.
