PRESS RELEASE - Mors CE Services in association with the St. Lucia Medical and Dental Association presents a two Day Dental Professional Development event slated for Friday 17 April – Saturday 18, 2015.
Spearheaded by Rosula Morgan, a Saint Lucian born Senior Registered Dental Hygienist currently residing in Canada, the event is expected to not only educate participants who receive 12 CE credits upon completion, but act as a networking forum.
A first of its kind, this Canada/Saint Lucia event will take the form of a series of lectures and hands-on courses on Endodontics, Periodontal Diseases and more.
Guest speakers include Dr. Victor H. Eastmond, Chairman of Caribbean Dental Program Inc with opening remarks, Dr. Sam Kratchman, Associate Professor of Endodontics, Dr. John Odal, Endodontics Specialist, Dr. Nancy Boodhoo, Dental Surgery Specialist, Layla Ferguson, Barrister, Dr. Mira Ghaly, Periodontics Specialist and Jessica Lund, Certified Dental Assistant.
Other key sponsors include Bay Gardens Hotel, Glace Grafix and Clinical Research Development, with support being pledged by Dr. Sherry Ephraim, Chief Dental Surgeon in the Ministry of Health.
When asked why she decided to facilitate such an event, Ms. Morgan or ‘Rossie’ as she is widely known simply smiled and said, ‘dentistry is not only my livelihood but my passion. Ive been searching for a way to assist our Saint Lucian dental practitioners and give back to my country and I believe such an event will expose us to many more opportunities for development
However, it is very commendable that Saint Lucia is one of the few islands in the region which has legislation requiring dentists to complete CE programs to obtain credits and by extension, develop their careers.’
