What is Pixel Pop?

Pixel Pop is a one day festival for gamers, game development, and music.

Who is going?

Speakers:

Aureylian: An avid gamer from the time she could hold a controller in her hand, Aureylian focused her passion for pc gaming into content creation on both YouTube and Twitch. She primarily focuses on Minecraft, but frequently explores console titles and other indie titles on pc.

Chris Kudelka

He has worked on both the Big Data and Analytics teams at Riot Games since 2011. In his current role, he supports engineers, game designers, and other feature teams as they leverage Riot’s data ecosystem and analytics tools to understand how to improve player experiences from system performance and gameplay perspectives. Prior to Riot, Chris was a researcher and developer at Washington University’s Cognitive Aging Lab. He received his degree in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology from Washington University in St Louis, with a focus on Linguistics.

Christopher Badell

Christopher Badell is the designer of the hit cooperative card game Sentinels of the Multiverse, as well as the co-owner of Greater Than Games, LLC. Over the last few years, his story-telling game creation style and attention to both thematics and mechanics in games has made a mark on the tabletop gaming industry.

Elspeth Eastman

Elspeth Eastman is a voice actress, gamer, YouTuber, and composer. A lover of audio since a young age, she has dedicated the last fifteen years to be a part of the game sound industry, as well as the independent community. She hosts Rated E With Elspeth, her YouTube channel, and her voice credits include Crypt of the NecroDancer, Killer Instinct, Guns of Icarus Online, and Pillars of Eternity. Elspeth is thrilled to be speaking at Pixel Pop this year!

Butterscotch Shenanigans

Brothers Seth & Sam Coster started Butterscotch Shenanigans in November of 2012 and have since launched two games on the mobile market – Towelfight 2: The Monocle of Destiny, and Quadropus Rampage. With a player-base now totaling over 2,000,000 worldwide, the brothers are honing their craft while helping others in the St. Louis game development community to go full indie and find success.

Stuart Keating

Stuart P. Keating is up to all sorts of weird stuff in Saint Louis. He has a phenomenally stupid dog named Luther.  Dioxin Dump is an independent games and culture company dedicated to producing beautiful, innovative, meaningful garbage.

Philip Hayes

Philip Hayes is a software developer and musical composer from St. Louis, MO. He graduated from Webster University with a BS in computer programming and is one of the original co-founders of Happy Badger Studio. Phil has been developing iPhone apps and games for over five years, with several applications currently in development under his new studio moniker “Bravendary.”

Jenny Gibbons

Jenny Gibbons operates the game development company Woodsy Studio, which has published two interactive novels (Serafina’s Saga, Quantum Conscience). She is also a historical fiction and fantasy author under the pseudonym “Jayden Woods” with more than 8 self-published novels. Her success with self-publishing earned her the representation of a literary agent in 2011, as well as the award for Best Historical Fiction of 2010 by Kirkus Discoveries.

Rob Santos

Rob Santos is a multi-discipline interactive media director and entrepreneur. With dual creative and engineering roots in film and as a web host account manager and programmer, Rob’s history also includes work as a graphic designer, software developer, data mining engineer, content manager, internet marketer, and business owner.

Wes Ehrlichman

Wes Ehrlichman has been helping to grow the game development community in St. Louis since 2009. In that time he has played a part in organizing 11 St. Louis Game Jams and over 100 St. Louis Game Developer Meetups.

Adam Shaw

Adam Shaw is a full-time sound designer and audio engineer at Simutronics, creators of games such as CyberStrike, Tiny Heroes & One Epic Knight.  When he’s not busy turning the timid mews of small animals into frightening monsters Adam operates as the media coordinator for the St. Louis game development community and fancies making short films and documentaries under the banner of Cantaloupe Meltdown Productions.  His passion for bringing people together made him a perfect fit for PixelPop!

What is going to happen?
