Well I already had the first two periods partially written soo...
I blame Canada... Here is your game night recap.
First Period
Tonight the blues started off tonight pretty strong and stoic. They were the rested team and seemed to be reved up and ready as the snow fell outside. The Ottawa Senators came to play after playing against Pittsburg last night. It was a pretty boring at first as both teams were strong on their puck possession going end to end for minutes at a time. There were some hits here or there and some words exchanged every so often but the play didn't seem intense to me. Things started to fire up at 14:08 of the period Brendon Morrow would get his 9th of the year after he tipped the puck into the back of the Ottawa net. The play amped up after the goal and both Ottawa and St. Louis started to get even more chippy. Which was confusing as the Sens and Blues barely ever meet in the regular season. The Blues took their 1-0 lead into the locker room for the first intermission.
Second Period
The Blues would come out of the locker room for the second itching for some trouble. The first half of the period they seemed to be gunning for Zack Smith. Ryan Reeves had previously tried to get Smith to drop the mitts earlier in the game but He just wasn't having it. That trend continued in the second period, so different tactics seemed to be required. Chris Stewart would take a coincidental minor for roughing with Non-Olympian, Bobby Ryan. Early in the period Jordan Leapold somehow saved the 1-0 lead by tipping the puck away from the goal line. A Slew of penalties toward Ottawa would start at 10:14 of the period. The Blues would get power play chance after chance and they could not put a shot in the net to save their life. The team from St. Louis would get a 5 on 3 chance and still were not able to capitalize. Shortly after the blown 5 on 3 the Sens would put a puck past Jaroslav Halak to tie the game up. At 15:09 Detective Inspector T.J. Oshie would pull a dissapearing puck trick. The telecast would go to commercial after an apparent out of play shot. Upon returning from the commercial break the officials were taking to the boys in Toronto and were given the go ahead to call the goal good.
David Backes would follow suite to dampen the Senetors hopes and dreams at 19:55. Putting the Blues up 3-1 as they went to the locker room for the second intermission.
Third Period/Overtime/Shoot Out
The Senetors came back in the third to take the lead 4-3.

After the 4th goal:
Jordan Leopold was able to tie it back up 4-4 late in the third and send the game to overtime.
No one would score in the overtime 5 minutes, and the game would go to a Shootout. Oshie and Steen would score but the Sens would best them after 5 rounds in the shootout.
I'd love to post tweets and shit tonight but I am to tired and way to pissed to go through all the one's I favorited. If I am still snowed in from work tomorrow morning I will update with tweets.
