ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Longtime conservative activist and Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly wants to make sure those using her intellectual property get her permission first.

Schlafly stated in a YouTube video that using her name, likeness, writings or the word “eagle” were her “personal property” and should not be used without her consent.

In the video, she says “Please let me know whether you want to continue associating with me and my work using my name, image, writings or the eagle logo or “Eagle” name. And if you do, please ask for my permission for the use of my name and my approval of your organization.”

The YouTube request comes weeks after Schlafly lost a court battle with her nephew, Tom, who trademarked the name Schlafly to continue marketing craft beer. Phyllis Schlafly said it’s primarily a surname, the court disagreed.
