Though we look forward to the holiday season every year, there is a decided price to pay for all of that holiday cheer—stress.  Don’t get me wrong, I love the excuse to travel home to visit my family, giving and receiving gifts, decorating the Christmas tree, and all the delicious food.  However, by the time Christmas day actually arrives I’m usually ready to take a long hot bath.  Finding (or knitting) the perfect gift for everyone on your list can be both challenging and exhausting.  Once I’ve finished knitting for everyone else, I’m ready for a knitting pattern that’s sweet and simple.  Post-Christmas, I want a knitting pattern that’s totally stress-free, in other words.

With less than a week to go until the big day, I know knitters everywhere are frantically wrapping up their holiday knitting.  It’s time to start looking forward to that magical moment when you can relax and start knitting for pleasure again.  After having your knitting batteries seriously drained by the holidays, these patterns are a great way to way to get back into the groove of knitting again.  Sometimes knitting something mindlessly simple is the best way to remember why you love knitting so much in the first place.
