FEATURE – To start off October Dixie’s Adopt-A-Paws visited Jade Braithwaite the Groomer Girl, who recently relocated to St. George from Salt Lake City to offer mobile pet grooming services.
Braithwaite has always had a passion for working with animals, she said. After 12 years at a corporate job, she decided to follow her dreams and established her own mobile pet salon that comes right to the pet owner’s front door.
Groomer Girl works out of a 2012 Mercedes Sprinter fully equipped with everything needed to trim nails, bathe, shave and trim a pup’s fur or hair.
Braithwaite talked about the positive aspects of using a mobile pet grooming service: She comes straight to your home or office where she pampers your pet. There are no cages or other animals waiting to be groomed, therefore yours gets all the attention he deserves. The environment of her facility is calming and clean.
Prices vary depending on dog size and hair and typically takes between one to two hours.
Groomer Girl’s website offers various options:
Deluxe grooming service. Starting at $50, this service includes nails trimmed, eyes and ears cleaned, brushing/dematting, custom spa bath, blueberry facial scrub, anal gland expression, full blow dry by hand, fresh breath treatment, fragrance spritz (optional), bow or bandanna (optional).
Deluxe styling service. Starting at $60, this service includes the deluxe grooming service plus a hair cut designed to specific breeds.
Dixie’s Adopt-a-Paws visited Braithwaite while she gave the royal treatment to Cisco, her parents’ yorkie.
Keeping a dog clean and trimmed can only benefit her well-being, especially if she has longer hair. Trimming the fur or hair on paw pads can prevent discomfort. Keeping your pet’s ears and eyes clean and preventing hair and fur from matting can make both you and your little best friend happy.
