He created a powerful crony-fied Liberal party that continues his radical ways for decades.
Just imagine, though. Young Justin’s a cipher, an idiot, just the kind of numbskull matierial as Prime Minister of Canada to bring in all the Big Global Socialism full speed ahead– Agenda 21, Wind Power & other Green scams, curtailing free speech & dissent, increasing surveillance, promoting ever more social experimentation, institutionalizing anti-Christianity, supporting stealth-jihad, and literally God knows what else.

~ IN A CERTAIN WAY, modern radicals respect the power of words too much: if their various causes make it into law, it is eternal and written in stone– in a way that the laws and truths they oppose when likewise cast in law were not. They expect that the laws they overthrow will remain so forever, no matter how foolish, destructive, unreal or Utopian they may be.
In the older understanding– which they are seeking to cause everyone to forget, by erasing history from school curricula and the public square, that people might live very different un-radicalled sorts of lives by rules and laws– in that older understanding, laws grew from common experience, and Christian principles and past legal wisdom, to order common life according to justice and God’s Law.
That is, the Law of God, revealed in the Ten Commandments, and perfected in the law of sacrificial love given in Christ, and enabled by the inward gifts of the Holy Spirit. Here is the true power of Western law, against both anarchy and tyranny, and both slavery and wickedness. Even most of our seemingly secular “rights” obsession is grounded in the dignity and freedom Christ gave to each son and daughter of God, having washed both by his blood, and risen to live within them and before them as the promised heavenly life. That we can’t figure out the source and meaning of our own laws is a sign that we are forgetting who and what we are, replacing liberty under law under God with the counterfeits of the false-messianic state, the increasingly arbitrary decision of legislators and judges, and the death by a thousand good intentions of the determined armies of activists, who seem to think that state-enforced rights are the be-all and end-all of the political process and personal freedom.
Pre-Surrendered?
Law-abiding citizens, likewise, mean well– but laws must be true and right and just, not just declared by worldly power. Too many conservatives despair that once the busy-bodies have declared gay marriage or confiscatory taxes or intrusive surveillance or cradle-to-grave goodies for all, that’s it, no recourse, gotta obey.
Nope. But that “nope” is qualified by the larger understanding: any law must accord (1) with precedent, (2) principle, (3) divine law. That’s what’s wrong with Sharia-law– Muhammed had nothing but contempt for the stuff that came before him (despite stealing and “borrowing” much of Judaism & Christianity for his cult), so his word– as interpreted by endless scholars– replaces proper justice & precedent, so God’s law is applied immediately, with no possible appeal to justice or truth or reason.. the deity of Islam is not constrained by reason, nature, or anything else.
Thus, we face a triple task in the West– of asserting the principles, and of opposing, re-writing, and restoring good laws (laws that reflect goodness, and which make it easier for people to be good). The third task is reminding people of good will and people of faith that a larger spiritual, legal and moral world is out there, however much our decadent society may wish to war against reality, biology, morality, legality, reason, and the inherited wisdom and law of the Western world, which is meant to protect our freedom, not infringe upon it, nor force us to act upon imaginaries or impossibilities, or evils.
Making All Things New
It was conversion that redeemed the ancient world; repentance that built the Middle Ages; Christian hope that created the modern world. Since the 1500s and onwards, the stream of ideas and principles that deliberately tried to leave God out of the account, and erase his image from men and society, has led us to the Stalag, the Gulag, the Guillotine, and to the horrible despair of trying to perfect the world and society and (expendable) person-units.
Resistance to such a spirit of death and worldly power will not come cheaply. As the Carmelite Martyrs of Compiègne teach us still today, costly and principled resistance can convict hearts, smash idols, and reverse the “inevitable” course of the Juggernaut Progress, and the dark and hungry god “Revolution”.
Holy Martyrs of Compiègne, and the countless martyrs of the blood-soaked 20th Century, pray for us. ~
