EA announced today that Game Update 2.4 for Star Wars: The Old Republic will be rolled out 2 October.
The update will implement a host of new changes to the game including new 4v4 PvP Warzone Arenas and “The Dread War” story missions. “The Dread War” introduces the moon Oricon, where players can travel to take part in the finale to the Dread Masters’ saga. On Oricon two new level 55 operations await, The Dread Fortress and The Dread Palace.
BioWare have implemented BitRaider streaming for The Old Republic resulting in a reduced download size for the game, which allows gamers to get online more quickly. It’s also been announced that starting today the game’s first DLC — which was released in April — “Rise of the Hutt Cartel” will be available free for all players. Those who already purchased the add-on will receive in-game items through the mail system.
“Rise of the Hutt Cartel” introduced the planet of Makeb, raised the level cap to 55 and added five new operations. “We are constantly looking to improve the gameplay experience in Star Wars: The Old Republic, finding fresh new ways for players to try it out while offering new, higher-level content to our existing community,” said Jeff Hickman, General Manager of BioWare Austin.
Star Wars: The Old Republic is available free-to-play now for PC.
