Celebrities:  We spend all day talking about them but there are always a few who manage to gain more column inches than any of their famous peers.

Here we count down Yahoo’s ten most searched celebrities of 2015, and there are definitely a few surprises along the way…

10. Katie Price

2014 was a pretty manic year for Katie Price. She dramatically revealed that her husband Kieran Hayler, had been having an affair with her best mate, Jane Poutney behind her back, and ended up giving birth to her fifth child, Bunny, two weeks prematurely.

So what was she doing in 2015 that made her Yahoo’s 10th most searched celeb?

The former glamour model shocked everybody when she agreed to take part in the Celebrity Big Brother back in January, and it wasn’t long before she was bickering with Katie Hopkins and being harassed by Perez Hilton all for our viewing pleasure.

After taking home the gold, Katie has been a little bit quieter although she did hit the headlines a fair few times when her ex-husband, Peter Andre, signed up to this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing.

We can’t wait to find see what 2016 has in store, after all, you should never underestimate the Pricey…

9. Rita Ora

Rita Ora was hotly anticipated to join The X Factor judging panel after Simon Cowell vowed that he’d be seriously mixing up the 2015 series of the show, but that didn’t make it any less of a scandal when she confirmed that she had signed on the dotted line.

The singer had previously made a name for herself on rival singing competition, The Voice, and the star faced a lot of backlash when she was accused of “jumping ship”.

Still, Rita has stuck by her guns on the show as well as breaking up badboy Ricky Hilfiger and taking up with rocker Travis Barker.

8. Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift started to slowly take over the world following the release of her album, 1989, last year but 2015 has really seen TayTay dominate the headlines.

Whether it was the star’s use of her harem of famous pals in her Bad Blood music video, her Twitter beef with Nicki Minaj, or her romance with Calvin Harris, Taylor really has had a lot going on this year.

But alongside the sparkly, glitzy side of her career, the 25-year-old has been embroiled in her fair share of controversy, writing open letters to Apple Music to explain why she refused to let her music be streamed for free, and being accused of ripping off fans after she kicked off about fan-made merchandise being sold on sites such as Easy.

With the popstar vowing to take a break following the conclusion of her 1989 world tour, 2016 is set to be at least a little bit quieter.

7. Michelle Keegan

Former Coronation Street actress, Michelle Keegan, bowed out of the ITV soap a year ago, but that doesn’t mean that anybody has lost interest in her.

The brunette beauty continued to be named the sexiest woman on the planet by pretty much every single publication, but perhaps more significantly than that, she also tied the knot with her TOWIE boyfriend, Mark Wright.

The lead up to the nuptials seemed to go on forever with her dress, which she designed herself, eventually being revealed in a magazine deal.

6. Kim Kardashian

She’s one of the most talked about women on the planet at the best of times, but 2015 really saw Kim’s profile shoot to a whole new level.

Alongside a highly-publicised trip to Armenia for her reality show, ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’, Kim announced that she was pregnant with her and Kanye West’s second baby - expecting a little boy next month.

The 35-year-old’s pregnancy was all the more talked about after she confessed that she is suffering with a lot of health issues and may need an emergency hysterectomy after giving birth, with Kim once again refusing to hold back when it came to discussing whether or not she enjoyed being “with child”, admitting that pregnancy was the worst experience of her life.

5. Caitlyn Jenner

Trumping her famous step-daughter, 2015 has definitely been the year that saw Caitlyn Jenner push the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan out of the limelight as she came bounding forward to introduce herself to the world.

65-year-old Caitlyn, formerly known as Bruce, confirmed earlier this year that she is transgender and went on to make the transition from male to female, documenting part of this in her E! TV show, ‘I Am Cait’.

As well as hitting the headlines for her incredibly brave gender reassignment, Caitlyn also gave many moving speeches as she rallied to raise awareness for transgender rights and fully embraced the LGBT+ community.

4. One Direction

When 2015 kicked off, fans across the globe had no idea just how dramatic this year would be for the biggest boyband in the world, with the first big scandal coming in March when Zayn Malik sensationally decided to quit the band and pursue a solo career.

As the weeks passed by, Zayn’s new accomplice, Naughty Boy, was getting into tiffs with the star’s fans as well as former bandmates, with it all coming to a head when Zayn publicly lashed out at Louis Tomlinson in a rather bitter Twitter spat.

Then of course there was the shock revelation that Louis Tomlinson is expecting a baby with Briana Jungwirth, with it being claimed that the two had shared a brief fling back in May.

Not long after that, it was announced that the remaining four boys were set to take a year-long hiatus in 2016, which then became two years, and inevitably turned into people everywhere claiming that One Direction were actually calling it quits and wouldn’t be back at all.

Only time will tell with regards to that one, but on a more positive note, the boys also released their first album as a four-piece, Made In The AM, and it was widely praised by critic and fans alike.

3. Susanna Reid

Susanna Reid, the fanciable host of Good Morning Britain, has always had a spot in the nation’s heart, with her charming antics on breakfast television winning her fans all over the country

This year, Susanna confirmed that she was going to be joined by a new co-host, Piers Morgan, and also won an award for being the “Newsreader of the Year” amid giggly and flirtatious interviews with the likes of David Beckham.

2. Jeremy Clarkson

Top Gear presenter, Jeremy Clarkson, sparked controversy this year when it was revealed that he’d lashed out at one of the show’s producers following a, and we quote, “fracas”.

It was later confirmed that Jeremy had had a bit of a hissy fit over the choice of catering while filming on location in North Yorkshire, with the star being offered soup and a cold meat platter instead of a steak because the hotel chef had gone home for the night.

Jeremy was dismissed from the show following his unacceptable behavior.

The last Clarkson episode of Top Gear was treated a bit like a funeral with fans all over the world wailing and posting on Twitter about how devastated they were.

It was also later announced that he would be getting a new show on Amazon Prime, which he is currently making.

Oh and he also said he’d kicked the booze but the money he saved he was spending on parking tickets. Classic Jeremy.

1. Duchess Of Cambridge

Of course only one person could come top in this list, with Kate Middleton AKA The Duchess Of Cambridge once again being the most talked about woman of the year.

Kate gave the United Kingdom another royal baby this year, welcoming Princess Charlotte in May, two years after the birth of Prince George.

The 33-year-old has also continued on her quest to be the most fashionable member of the royal family since time began, constantly hitting the top of Best Dressed lists throughout the year following her various public appearances.

Anything she wears sells out within minutes and her family, the Middletons, are also a endless source of fascination to the public, as is Kate’s relationship with her granny-in-law…The Queen.
