A new report from Automotive News details GM’s strategy on future Buick launches in the US. By the end of the decade, GM will launch seven first-time/new generation/facelift models under the Buick brand.
Buick Cascada
The Buick Cascada goes on sale in early 2016. It will be the brand’s first convertible model to be sold in North America in 25 years. The 2+2 soft-top will be powered by a 200-hp 1.6-liter turbocharged engine which will come mated to a 6-speed transmission. It will be imported from Opel’s plant in Gliwice, Poland.
Buick Envision
The Buick Envision that was launched in China last year, will be modified for North America and reach the U.S. dealerships by fall 2016. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine offered in China could be offered here on the D2XX platform-based compact crossover. GM filed for ‘Envision’ trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) earlier this month.

Buick LaCrosse
The next generation Buick LaCrosse was recently spied inside-out in China and will go on sale in the US next year. But unlike previous reports, the new report says that it will arrive in the U.S. market as MY2017 model. Expect the official debut to happen at the 2016 North American International Motor Show (Detroit, January 2016).
Buick Verano
The next generation Buick Verano is likely to arrive in H2 2016 as MY2017 model. The design of the all-new model’s U.S.-spec version will be similar to the current China-spec model that we exclusively reported being tested in Chicago last month. The Verano should be offered with the all-new 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine from the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze.
Buick Regal
The next generation Buick Regal should go into production around mid-2017. GM announced in a press release last year that the [Opel’s] Ruesselsheim plant [in Germany] has been chosen for the assembly of a future model which will be sold in the US under the Buick brand name. This indicates that the next-gen Regal could be built alongside the next-gen Opel Insignia in Germany.
The 1.5- and 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engines from the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu should form perfect offerings for this sedan. The report says that GM is also considering a wagon version imported from Germany and a diesel engine for the all-new model.
Buick Enclave
The next generation Enclave is slated for mid-2017 arrival. It will be underpinned by a new, lighter platform that will also form basis for the next generation Chevrolet Traverse. It should sport a new 3.6-liter engine.
Opel/Buick Adam
GM is seriously considering the Opel Adam for the U.S. market, as per the report. The three-door city car is presently in its first generation and designed for Europe. The U.S. market launch won’t happen before the second generation model arrives. The next-gen model should arrive in Europe in 2018 or 2019, and possibly a year later in the USA.
