Crews from the Union Pacific Railroad will be replacing rail through the crossing on Colorado Highway 131 at mile marker 16.25 through Bond on Monday, July 25. The only day of a full closure will be Monday. Preliminary work will begin Sunday with flaggers ushering motorists through the work zone and again on Tuesday, July 26. Sunday and Tuesday, motorists should expect 5- to 10-minute delays during flagging operations.
Steamboat Christian School plans open house Sunday
All interested students, parents, volunteers and those who want to learn more about the new Steamboat Christian School are invited to attend a barbecue and informative open house from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Heritage Park school building, 27285 Brandon Circle.
Steamboat Christian School is accepting applications for the 2016-17 school year, which begins in late August. The school’s goal is to follow the path of Jesus Christ, teach excellently and develop wisdom and character in students and teachers.

Steamboat to host trip to see Rockies baseball game
The city of Steamboat Springs is sponsoring a trip to Denver for senior citizens older than 55 to see the Rockies play the Atlanta Braves Sunday. The cost of $30 includes transportation and admission ticket. Departure time is 8:30 a.m. from the Howelsen Ice Arena parking lot. CC4E committee schedules meeting 4 p.m. Tuesday
The next CC4E meeting is set for 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 26 at the Steamboat Springs School District Office, 325 Seventh Street. The meeting is open to the public, and public comments will be welcomed at the beginning of the meeting.
RMYC set to host hockey tournament, silent auction
Rocky Mountain Youth Corps will host the A-B-C Hockey Tournament and Silent Auction Saturday, July 30. Teams can receive prizes for winning games and bringing silent auction baskets. Entry fee is $60 per person or $40 for students and includes three games. All proceeds will benefit RMYC’s new field operations building project.
Prizes include skate sharpenings, T-shirts, travel mugs, Honey Stinger treats, beer and pizza, and RMYC will be selling beer and food throughout the day.

Steamboat twin siblings named to Presidents List
Riley Brodie and his twin sister, Katie Brodie, were named to the Presidents List at Colorado Mountain College for maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Both are active in campus life and are involved with the RA, RHA and FBLA programs as officers.
Both will return to CMU in August.
CPW reminds hunters of upcoming license sale dates
Colorado Parks and Wildlife reminds hunters over-the-counter licenses with caps and over-the-counter unlimited licenses will be available for purchase beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 26.

Leftover limited licenses that remain after the primary and leftover draws will go on sale in person and by phone at 9 a.m. Aug. 2. These licenses will be available beginning at midnight Aug. 3. The list of leftover licenses available for purchase will be available Wednesday, July 27 at cpw.state.co.us/thingstodo/pages/biggame.aspx.
All purchases require a current and valid photo ID, proof of residency, Social Security number and Hunter Education card, unless the hunter was born on or before Jan. 1, 1949.
Online verification requires input of the hunter education information on the card and the state in which it was issued. Bring card for in-person sales.

Clark resident selected for Azusa Pacific honor list
Emily Heiner, of Clark, has been selected for the academic Deans’ List at Azusa Pacific University. She is an applied exercise science major. To make the Dean’s List, student must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or better.
Upcoming Yampa Farmers Market to be held July 31
The Yampa Farmers Market will returns to River Park in Yampa on Sunday, July 31. The summer event, which is beginning its second year, is sponsored by Friends of Gateway Yampa, an ad-hoc committee to the South Routt Economic Development Council.
The Super Fun Steamboat Show will perform its Wild West antics at “high noon.” Other entertainment will include an array of local musicians playing their sounds throughout River Park. Children’s activities will include face painting, petting zoo, bubbles and more.
