Steamboat Arts Council developing artist exchange

The Steamboat Springs Arts Council currently is developing a visiting artist exchange between Routt County teachers and local artists. The council has confidence that this exchange program can spread creativity and resources through practicing artists, local teachers and students working together in the classroom.

How it will work is an art teacher in need of assistance could contact an artist on the list to see if they are available to help. Together, the artist and teacher would create a plan for the project idea and bring it to life in the classroom. This could be a one-hour class, a semester-long project or any configuration of time that is agreeable to both.

To make this work, the Arts Council is searching for Steamboat Arts Council Artist Members who may be interested in participating.

If you’d like to be placed on the contact list, give the Arts Council a call at 970-879-9008 or email info@steamboat

arts.org with your name, email, phone number and artistic medium and the group will place you on the list. Put “Visiting Artist” in the subject line of your email.
