Black Tie Ski Rentals has launched a partnership with Glenwood Springs-based ski manufacturer Meier Skis, according to a news release.
Meier Skis produces skis using local aspen and beetle-killed pine.
The Black Tie Ski Rentals location in Steamboat Springs currently carries six custom Black Tie logo models, according to the release, and the company plans to expand the partnership to other locations in the future.
Black Tie has four men’s, one women’s and one teen model available to demo, the release states, and Meier’s Heritage Tour, Wild Bill, The Doc, Quickdraw, Six Shooter and Big Nose Kate models can be purchased at Black Tie’s shop in One Steamboat Place plaza.
According to the release, Meier Skis are “lightweight, versatile and all official selections for the 2014 Skiing Magazine Buyers Guide.” The release also states that they provide an affordable boutique ski option, with the Quickdraw available for $650.
“The guys at Meier are making some great skis with locally sourced materials,” Black Tie Ski Rentals President Ian Prichard said in the release. “We’re excited that this partnership allows our customers to try a quality handmade product made right in our backyard.”
Colorado Group Realty presents awards to top brokers
Colorado Group Realty has presented three brokers with “awards that show leadership and strength within the firm,” according to a news release.
Nancy Westphale was given the Rising Star award, which is given to a new broker who has made an outstanding contribution to the company, the release states.
“It’s been a true pleasure working with Nancy this past year,” broker/owner Randall Hannaway said in the release. “Her commitment to serving her customers along with her tireless work ethic have proven contagious. Nancy truly had a breakout year in 2013.”
The Top Producer award went to Nick Metzler. This is his seventh time receiving the award. Metzler stated in the release that the support staff at Colorado Group Realty has a lot to do with his success, citing the work by Kelly Becker, Bert Svendsen and Michelle Barnes.
“The firm is fortunate to have an individual like Nick on board,” broker/owner Lori Thompson said in the release. “Not only for the contribution he makes as a top-producing agent, but as an agent that sets the standard for teamwork and client service.”
Eliese Pivarnik was named the Broker of the Year. The award goes to a broker who “makes superior contributions of their time, energy and efforts."
”Along with having an outstanding production year, Eliese has given countless hours to help make Colorado Group Realty a better place for all brokers, employees and clients,” broker/owner Shelley Stanford said in the release. “She is always there for the other brokers in our company when help and guidance is needed.”
Yampa Valley Data Partners releases December report
Yampa Valley Data Partners launched a new website and released its FastFacts report for December.
Unemployment rates for Routt and Moffat counties hovered in the mid-5 percent range for the third consecutive month in December, remaining lower than the state and national rates, according to the report.
The two counties together produced 49 percent of the coal mined statewide in September, the report states, despite Colorado year-to-date production falling 17.6 percent. Oil and gas production also was running ahead of last year for Routt County.
Retail sales were up 5 percent in Routt County through September while being down 5.2 percent in Moffat County, according to the report.
The average listing price in Moffat County hit a high for the year at $195,000 in November. Routt County’s average listing price hit $545,000, the highest since May.
