Britni White has the natural ability to lead collaboration and motivate teams of volunteers on a daily basis. Every day, she is working to make a positive impact on her community. Running the North Country Chamber of Commerce allows Britni to shape her future so she can follow in her family’s footsteps and open a business while raising kids. “I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit and this area is ripe for opportunities.”

The North Country Chamber of Commerce represents the communities of North Stratford, North to the Canadian border, East to Errol, NH and West to cover the bordering communities in Vermont along the Connecticut River. With 126 members, they strive to promote each other’s businesses while providing resources to encourage positive economic activity and growth.

The Chamber is primarily run by volunteer power. Britni is currently the only staff member working with the committees as well as an active board of eleven directors that work to provide business resources, networking events and community projects. The North Country Chamber of Commerce attracts visitors, new residents and even new businesses. Interested in finding a way to give? Check out ways you can get involved with the Chamber.

As Co-Director, Britni is proud to have helped organize the 23rd Annual North Country Moose Festival. This is the signature event of the region, with activities ranging from family entertainment, a classic car show, a growing craft fair, several contests and much more. Moose Fest is the weekend before Labor Day weekend and it draws thousands to the area. “It takes a ton of volunteer power to pull it off, but we did it, and a banner year for attendance at that!” Did you miss the event this year? Mark your calendars for 2015 so you can attend this incredible event.

Britni also just bought her first home. The affordable living was a big factor in staying in the area that she grew up in. She enjoys the country in the Great North Woods because “It’s safe, secluded and full of all the wonderful things about the great outdoors.” She specifically enjoys spending time with her family and friends, including her sweet Golden Retriever pup, Chloe. They love to go hiking and swimming, attending concerts and enjoying food out on the town at restaurants like the Rainbow Grill. She also enjoys a night-in with a good movie and local food she creates from farmers’ markets.

Britni loves the colors and flavors that fall brings, and the snow and cozy comforts of winter. “With a fire burning inside and fun recreational activities to experience outside, it’s just wonderful. I think many of we New Englanders change with the seasons. Each season becomes our favorite because it is a change of scenery and brings new things to do, see and experience. When spring hits, we all think it’s so warm out when it’s like 45 degrees.” You may catch Britni huddled around a bonfire or visiting the Seacoast. Britni finds Portsmouth to be a great foodie town on the beautiful Seacoast. She explains there is a lot to love about Portsmouth, the history, art, restaurants, quaint shops, earthy & cultural events are just a few things Portsmouth has to offer. Littleton is also a top spot to visit that isn’t too far from from Stratford.” Littleton also has a great Main Street and artsy vibe.” Every year she looks forward to visiting the sugar houses during Maple Sugaring Season. When summer arrives, she celebrates the beauty of the lakes, goes hiking and attends events at the Tillotson Center for the Arts, a state-of-the-art facility for concerts, theatre plays, movies, nights of dancing and community events. No matter the season, the North Country has something for everyone!
