10 Exceptional Awardees to be Honoured at Gala Event at BAFTA

The crème de la crème of the international Italian community will gather at London’s prestigious BAFTA for the PrimiDieci UK 2016 Awards Gala Dinner on 3rd May 2016. The black-tie gala event will celebrate ‘the ten most successful Italians in the UK today’ across fields from culture to science, design to business, and will see in attendance a plethora of renowned names from the spheres of business and industry, public service, the media, the arts and entertainment.

The PrimiDieci UK 2016 Awards Gala Dinner presents an opportunity for some of Italy’s finest exports to highlight the vast efforts made by the enterprising, successful and dynamic international Italian community, who boast some of the most talented and educated economic migrants settled in the UK.

The event will be hosted by the influential PrimiDieci Society, an international collective of exceptional individuals of Italian nationality or Italian descent, whose professional achievements champion awareness of the global Italian community, and inspire young generations of Italians and British-Italians to excellence. The event is intended to create a legacy that will educate and inspire the next generation of young leaders today to benefit the global community tomorrow. It provides an excellent opportunity for networking with like-minded individuals and influential organisations and public bodies from the UK and overseas.

Boasting an esteemed guest list, the PrimiDieci UK 2016 Awards Gala Dinner will see 200 UK and international VIP attendees, including the Chairman of the Selection Committee, H.E.  P. Q. Terracciano, Italian Ambassador to the UK; Benito Fiore, Chairman of PrimiDieci UK; PrimiDieci Society Members of the Board of Trustees andInternational Selection Committee. Also in attendance will be the 10 awardees, representatives of the Italian, British and international business, cultural, celebrity and diplomatic communities.

This year’s distinguished awardees comprise of 10 eminent individuals, celebrating British-Italian excellence:

Stefano Pessina and Ornella Barra (Executive Chairman at Walgreens Boots Alliance, and CEO at Walgreens Boots Alliance);

Vittorio Colao (CEO, Vodafone Group);

Massimo Tosato (Executive Vice Chairman at Schroders);

Antonio Pappano (Music Director of the Royal Opera House);

Toni Mascolo OBE (Chairman/Chief executive & Co-founder TONI&GUY)

Greta Scacchi (Actress);

Francesco Vanni d’Archirafi (CEO, CITI Group);

Simonetta Agnello Hornby (Novelist, Lawyer);

Andrea Ferrari (Director, Cambridge Graphene Centre);

Riccardo Zacconi (CEO, at King Digital Entertainment).Past US prominent recipients include: Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone, Martha De Laurentis (film producer), Joe Mantegna (actor), Dante Ferretti (Oscar-winning production designer – ‘The Aviator’, ‘Sweenie Todd’), Mario Andretti (Formula 1 World Champion) and Regina Calcaterra (New York State Attorney and Author).

Established in the USA in 2011, the PrimiDieci Society is currently active in the US and the UK, with more chapters planned in Europe, Latin America and Asia in 2017. ThePrimiDieci UK 2016 Awards Gala Dinner will mark its inauguration in the UK after three highly successful similar events in New York as part of PrimiDieci USA. The winners’ life stories are celebrated in the annual PrimiDieci Books and each honouree is publiclypresented and awarded during the Society’s Awards Gala Dinner, held annually in New York and London.
