Startup-savvy policymakers and program leaders focused on exploring different policy ideas and programs to help accelerate new and young firm formation meet annually for the Startup Nations Summit (SNS). At this occasion, Startup Nations members and their guests engage in an open exchange of ideas and insightful research and data to drive smarter interventions and ecosystem networks.

SNS 2015 ACTIVITIES

Startup Mexico (SUM) Visit  (November 18):  Capital city-based Startup Nations member, SUM, would like to welcome delegates on their way to Monterrey to visit its campus and meet players in the capital’s startup ecosystem.

SNS Welcome Dinner (November 19, 2015): At this evening event, Mexican national authorities will host an exclusive dinner with Startup Nations delegates arriving to Monterrey.

INCmty (November 20-22, 2015): Startup Nations Summit delegates will have the opportunity to participate (free of charge) in this year’s edition of INCmty, an entrepreneurship and innovation festival gathering entrepreneurs, innovators and investors. The festival is scheduled to launch at 10am on Friday November 20, 2015 and spans until Sunday November 22 with events throughout the city. For more information please visit http://incmty.com/.

The Pitch (November 20-21, 2015): each Startup Nations member will have a chance to bring a selected winner from his or her country to vie for a spot in the global finals of The Pitch competition. Semifinals and coaching sessions will take place at Cintermex, side to side with INCmty activities. Six finalist startups will present to the guests at the SNS Gala.

SNS Gala & Awards Ceremony (Saturday November 21, 2015): This evening event will take place at the History Museum, and marks the opening of activities specifically designed for Startup Nations members and special guests.

Closed Summit (November 22, 2015): This invitation-only event is central to SNS and is the mandatory component for Startup Nations delegates. It is scheduled to take place in the Student Center of the Technological Institute of Monterrey. On this day, Startup Nations members interact with policy advisors, researchers and startup community leaders around common objectives of global relevance.

ABOUT THE SNS 2015 DESTINATION

Monterrey, the capital of the northeastern state of Nuevo Leon, is Mexico’s third largest metropolitan area with a population of over four million, and serves as the commercial center for the north of the country. Its entrepreneurship ecosystem features a high density of investment, as well as an education leader called Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey. Known as ‘Tec de Monterrey‘, this university boasts 28 campuses across Mexico and is one of the most prestigious in the Latin American region. the university has taken an active role in fostering the entrepreneurship ecosystem, not just in Monterrey, but also at its various other campuses throughout the country.
