If you’re getting excited already, then we want to hear from you!
At Ground Labs, we create security software that is used by organisations to identify insecure credit card numbers stored inside their network which could be stolen by hackers. It’s called Cardholder Data Discovery and we are leading the industry with an innovative engineering approach that helps to keep this sensitive data safe.

Ruby On Rails – We really like Ruby On Rails as we appreciate it’s flexibility, rapid development, stability, and built in security, and feel that the Model-View-Controller methodology makes the most sense when dealing with web site development. We hope you’re as big a fan of Ruby On Rails as we are!
MySQL – Good database design is key to a well performing and stable web site. We use MySQL and MySQL Cluster for our web sites as it gives us the performance, scalability, and high availability we need. If you know the difference between and InnoDB, a MyISAM and an NDB based database, you’ll fit in well around here.
Linux – We’ve got nothing against Windows, and we’re sure it’s a really nice Web platform, with lots of icons and things to click on – but when it comes to securely deploying a real web site, nothing beats the convenience of opening up a shell prompt, writing a bash script, or ssh’ing in to a remote machine and having a poke around. If you know what “bash” and “ssh” are, please keep reading!
Some other cool things about this role:
We are all very technical here from the top down, so if you like having team leaders and managers who appreciate the elegant way you’ve solved a Rails problem by monkey-patching ActiveSupport, or how you’ve managed to squeeze an additional 10% of performance by re-tuning our Nginx configuration, then you’ll like working here. Other aspects of this role we hope you will enjoy include:
A generous salary and benefits package including medical.
