Gatecoin is a fast-growing fintech startup focused on the rapidly evolving blockchain ecosystem in the heart of the dynamic Asia Pacific region. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to join our expanding technology team to help us enhance our blockchain assets trading platform (https://gatecoin.com/).
You will work directly with key company stakeholders from engineering, product, business, marketing and operations, external partners and API clients. This role has exceptional visibility to all aspects of our business and technology.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background across the IT operations spectrum (hardware, networking, middleware, database and applications) with a desire to continuously improve production & non-production environments.
You will be exposed to the latest developments in the blockchain industry and have the chance to learn about new technologies through regular training sessions. We also encourage you to spend up to 10% of your time at work to contribute to open source blockchain projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the automation and administration of our systems’ operations.
Communicate, escalate and follow up as appropriate to ensure that problems get solved
Improve system and security monitoring throughout our trading platform
Work closely with our CTO and other system engineers to influence decision making and implementation efforts.

Qualifications:
A degree in computer science, engineering or a related field, or equivalent (5+ years) extensive experience and a proven track record demonstrating:
High-levels of internal client services skills (incident management, operational processes)
Experience with supporting complex business-critical systems and enterprise distributed systems
Talented with design and engineering of innovative technical solutions
Approach DevOps practices in new and creative ways while ensuring production stability
Experience with Unix/Linux environments (Windows desirable too)
Familiarity with independent troubleshooting
Desire to simplify and automate processes using configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible a plus) and scripting languages (e.g. shell, Perl, Python)
Excellent written and verbal communication in English
Fast learner/willing to learn about the newest technologies.
Passion for bitcoin, ethereum, smart contracts, dapps and eager to learn about the latest blockchain technology trends.
Great if you have:
Understanding of forex, derivatives, equities or blockchain assets trading
Knowledge of varied trading platforms
Experience in agile working methodologies such as Kanban
Experience in continuous integration and continuous delivery
Experience in automated configuration management systems
Further in-depth exposure to Linux server administration
Networking knowledge
Exposure to network monitoring (e.g. Icinga) and application process monitoring
Interest in hardware & also virtual / cloud based infrastructure (e.g. Azure)
