THE ROLE
The Web Designer works closely with the development team focusing on creating digital platforms and mind boggling user experiences for our broad range of clients.
You should have strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, a good balance between analytical and creative thinking. We operate in a fast-paced and disciplined agile development environment focused on innovation.
You are able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artefacts, and transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional designs. Capable of handling frontend HTML, CSS, JavaScript as well as understanding of back end PHP programming. As a web designer will connect the graphical design of the UI/UX to the technical solutions, as well as interchanging data between server and users.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Holistic execution of visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
Conceptualise original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
Effective communication of interaction and design ideas
Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
Design and develop beautiful cross-browser cross-device mobile/desktop web experience
Working closely with the project team including production, operations, and marketing to deliver the project milestones
Tackle/solve tough engineering and product problems
Covering all software process stages including design, development, testing and maintenance
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum 2 years of proven web/digital design experience
Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, or other visual design and wire-framing tools
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Having knowledge in different frameworks including but not limited to AngularJS, Jquery, App Framework
Experience in hybrid mobile application such as Cordova, Intel XDK, Phonegap is a plus
Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
Up-to-date with the latest Web trends, techniques, and technologies
A bachelor’s degree in human-centered design, interaction design, information architecture, data science, human-computer interaction, visual design or a related program; or relevant work experiences in lieu of tertiary qualification
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
Acquire the ability to effectively communicate, undertake presentations and drive meetings (both internally and externally)
