The whole AlDub nation is on its feet as Maine Mendoza gave her sweet "yes" to Alden Richards. Now, the AlDub fans have a new date to celebrate- September 1, the date when Maine finally gave her heart to Alden.
The problem is, it happened inside of Kalyeserye, when AlDub was celebrating its 59th anniversary. Was it part of the script or was it for real? While some parts of Maine and Alden's conversation was scripted, that part about Alden confessing his love for Maine and Maine giving her sweet "Yes" is 100% real.

Another thing for sure too, Lola Nidora (Wally Bayola), Lola Tinidora (Jose Manalo), and the rest of the Dabarkads were either giggling, shouting with joy, or wiping tears from their eyes as one of the most memorable moments of AlDub unfolded before them.
As for Alden and Maine, they both cried when they hugged after Alden's much-awaited answer from Maine a.k.a. Divina/Yaya Dub.
So how did it happen?
In the first part of Kalyeserye, as Maine arrived at the studio, Alden immediately gave her a bouquet of flowers.
Alden fired the first shot when he said that it's good Duhrizz has already left and has resolved her problem. Then he said, "E yung atin, kelan kaya maaayos?" (How about ours, when can we fix it?)
Maine answered by simply greeting him "Happy Weeksary!"
Alden gave Maine an ice cream surprise of Avocado Macchiato, of course by Magnolia. Hahaha!
Somebody texted Maine on the phone but when asked by Alden who it was, she said it was nobody. Someone from the panel said, "MM".
Alden then asked who MM is. Maine replied that it was somebody she met while she was in LA. She did not have the time to tell Alden the story yet, because they were busy during the Lolas' concert las Saturday.
At that point, Alden started frowning. Maine asked why his face suddenly changed and asked, "Nagseselos ka ba?" (Are you jealous?)
Alden said "Bakit kasi sa iba ko pa nalalaman si MM e." (Why is it that i learn about MM from other people?)
Maine said that she would eventually tell him the story but she wanted to say it to him in person.
The Dabarkads gave a lot of funny meanings to the name MM (like Mokey Manaloto, Magnolia Macchiato). But Alden never smiled and continued to look grim.
Maine asked him, "Wala ka bang tiwala sa akin Alden? Di mo ba naalala yung mga leksyon na tinuro sa atin ni lola? Tiwala importante yun." (Don't you trust me? Don't you remember Lola's lessons? Trust is important.)
Alden said he trusts her but he wants to know about the important people in her life, coming directly from her and not from other people.
It's noticeable that Alden was reading a script when he said those lines.
Maine said she was really going to tell him the story. She made a joke by saying, MM is actually Madam Mauring. She continued by saying that MM is her cousin, who was one of the relatives that she met in the USA.
Lola Nidora confirmed it but Alden remained unconvinced. He said the only cousin he knows is Duhrizz.
With Maine explaining and saying, "Ngingiti na yan," Alden finally relented.
Maine said Alden shouldn't think too much. She said in a relationship, there should be "give and take". "Kailangang tayong dalawa ang nagwo work para sa relationship natin," Maine said. (Both of us should work for our relationship)
She said Alden should find out the truth first,"wala munang hanash hanash".
Alden replied, "Hindi naman ako nagseselos. Nagselos lang ako ng kaunti. Ganito lang siguro pag ano, pag sobrang mahal mo yung tao."
Alden looked at Maine when he said that. She replied that Alden shouldn't get jealous and that they should trust each other.
Then, at this point, the talk took on a different turn.
While looking at Maine, Alden asked, "Ikaw ba may tiwala sa akin?"
Maine answered,"Oo naman, ikaw ba?" Alden replied, "Oo naman."
At the other half of the screen, Lola Nidora and Lola Tinidora whispered to each other and giggled.
Maine asked, "Ano nga yung tanong mo, Alden?"
Lola Tinidora asked, "Tutoo yan? Tutoo yang sinabi mo?".
Lola Nidora answered, "Oo." Lola Nidora then shouted and giggled like a schoolgirl. She even lied down on the sofa and kicked her legs joyfully, while Lola Nidora covered her mouth, suppressing her kilig.
Alden said in a serious tone:
Eto yung tanong ko na matagal ko nang gustong marinig yung sagot, Meng. Mahal mo ba ako?
Maine's eyes widened, visibly surprised. Maine smiled and placed her left hand on her chest.
The Lolas were all over the place, not able to contain their kilig.
Allan K commented, "Ala, mukhang true to life yun, nabigla si Meng. Meng, nabigla ka!"
Maine replied, "Lola,eto na po yung sinasabi ko po sainyo. Lola hinihingi ko po yung blessing ninyo po,sana. Eto na po ba yung tamang panahon po?"
Lola Nidora said, "Yan yung sinabi mo sa akin kagabi. Go for it."
Maine faced and looked at Alden as he continued, "Sasagutin mo ba yung tanong ko? Handa ka na bang maging tayo?".
Maine dubsmashed "Ikaw" by Yeng Constantino and Alden answered with "Can't fight this feeling anymore" by REO Speedwagon.
Alden continued and said, "Maine, mahal mo ba ako?".
As the audience stomped its feet and shouted to the roof, a montage of AlDub scenes was played onscreen. In the background, a piano version of Imagine You and Me was playing.
It was Alden again who spoke,his eyes moist with tears waiting to fall, his voice shaking. He said:
Maine may mga bagay na dumarating sa buhay ng tao. Yung magpapabago ng takbo nito, yung hindi mo inaasahan pero tinatanggap mo pati pinapahalagahan. Aalagaan habang buhay at makakasama sa panghabang panahon. Maine, tinatanggap mo ba ako?
Maine just looked on, just about to cry. The reaction of the studio audience was deafening.
Alden continued, "Mahal mo ba ako, Maine? Mahal kita."
Allan K shouted, "Sagot na Maine, true to life na yan!"
They held each others' hands.
Maine said, crying a bit but smiling as she said, "Oo, Alden, mahal din kita."

Alden approached Maine and they then hugged each other tightly as the fans screamed, waved their tarpaulins, and "God Gave Me You" played in the background.
Alden and Maine hugged on, and on, and on...their eyes closed, both crying.
Then, as usual in Kalyeserye, the bullhorn sounded to signal the end of the unique daily soap opera.
The next shot showed the Maine and Alden sitting on a bench, side hugging each other. Maine teasing Alden as he wiped his tears away.
