The United States will participate in the She Believes tournament, a three-game series from March 3 - 9 against England, France, and Germany.

Unfortunately, only the American games will be broadcast on American television, although the BBC and French broadcasters D17 and Canal + Sport have picked up the other games. Here is the full schedule of all games.
She Believes is taking place during the time when the United States traditionally participates in the Algarve Cup invitational tournament in Portugal, but this year US Soccer decided to host a home soil series in preparation for the Olympics. All three teams will probably provide stiffer competition than the United States might have found in Algarve this year, although fans might remember the US crashing out of the tournament in 2014 with a seventh-place finish.
All three opponents have brought fairly full-strength rosters - France and Germany especially, since they are the UEFA nations who qualified for the Olympics. Germany vs. France kicks off just before United States vs. England tomorrow and could end up being the most entertaining game of the tournament. Germany beat France on penalties in the quarterfinals of the last World Cup, only to get knocked out themselves by the US in semis.
In any case, She Believes will allow the US to face World-Cup caliber competition while minimizing overseas travel. It will also be one of the last proving grounds for fringe players before Jill Ellis finalizes her Olympic roster. Players like Jaelene Hinkle, Samantha Mewis, and Mallory Pugh are all on the bubble, while returning players Heather O'Reilly and Whitney Engen must surely be doing everything they can to reclaim their roster spots.
Lindsey Horan is another player who would be new to a high-level tournament roster, but she's probably less on the bubble than others, based on her recent playing time with the team and Ellis' interest in using her as a defensive mid. And among the goalkeepers, with only two spots available, Alyssa Naeher and Ashlyn Harris will be fighting to see who goes as Hope Solo's backup and who drops to the alternate list. Playing time points to Naeher getting bumped up to #2 over Harris, but many things can change in camp between now and the summer.
