Hawaii freshmen beach volleyball pair Morgan Martin and Amy Ozee opened 3-0 in pool play Wednesday at the USA Volleyball U21 trials in Chula Vista, Calif.
The seventh-seeded duo didn’t drop a set in sweeping Cali Bunn-Hailey Harward 21-16, 21-12, Gina Lipscomb-Katie Sarber 21-13, 21-18, and Alexis Filippone-Megan Muret 21-18, 21-14. Bracket play begins today with the round of 16.
The semifinals and final are scheduled for Friday. The top two teams will represent the U.S. at the FIVB U21 Beach Volleyball World Championship in Nanjing, China, in June.
